I have finally played with my Christmas present and made my first tutorial. Well actually it’s probably my 5th but it’s the only one to get uploaded to share with you. Lot’s of trial and error for video placement and getting that head of mine out of the way…..hahaha.
So what is my first tutorial….
The Desktop Calendars I’ve been sharing with you recently.
Check it out and let me know what you think.
So, do you think you’ll be able to make them yourself from my instructions??
Once I get the hang of my Flip Video and making sure I keep my tutorials to under 10 minutes so they’ll upload to YouTube I’m hoping to do more. They are so much quicker then written tutorials.
Don’t forget to leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my 1st video. Any assistance with improving them will be greatly appreciated.
Till next time…..
Happy Stamping

ABSOLUTELY FANNNNNNNNTASTIC NIKKI!! The pic is super clear and you make it look so darn easy! lol
The only thing I would probably suggest is that you have the measurements of the cardstock come up on the screen just so we can quickly jot it down! I found myself getting so engrossed in what you were doing that I forgot what measurement you just said!
That said – I reckon you have definitely ACED your first vid – onwards and upwards from here chicki! Thanks so much for doing the tute for us!

Thanks Karen. Unfortunately I’m limited to what I can add. A title and credits is about all. I’ve tried editing in another program but it changes the audio and I sound like a chipmunk…..hahaha. Need to try a few other things out to perfect it but it’s a start.

LOL – I say ‘go the chipmunk’ cause I’ve been told I sound like Leisa Simpson! We’d make a great pair!
Karen
PS – would love to see a pic of how you have your flip cam set up for filming!

You are a legend….. Now I know what to make with those calendars….lol….
I think you have done a great job SS.

Fantastic video Nikki. Can’t believe it’s your first one. Very professional. Just a question. Could you post where you purchase your calendars and pens. Thanks in advance. Kris

Hey Nikki, I have been having a fantastic time browsing through your blog. Your work is just gorgeous and inspiring. Thanks for taking the time to share it. I can’t believe we started stamping about the same time – you have accomplished so much and developed so much and I’ve hardly touched it in the last 2 or so years!

Nikki! What a brilliant video!! Hard to believe it’s your very first!
I’ll have to watch it a few more times but will definitely be giving this a go

Great video – especially for your first. You could always have the supply list, with measurements in the entry before or after the video – for us to follow along. Great project. I love it. I will watch again and try to convert to inches (I’m is US.) Great job. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Kris.
The mini gel pens I purchased from Big W. They are $3.96 for a pack of 10 in various colours. They have 2 different packs. One with soft colors and the other more vibrant. I’ve been in this morning but my store only had the soft colours left.
As for the calendars I purchased them from http://www.edex.com.au and if you search for Calendar Tabs they will come up. They are still showing as In Stock
Hope that helps.

You really did a very good job on this tutorial. It is very clear and easy to understand and even if I miss something I will be able to go back to it again and pick up what I missed! Awesome!

This was great! I’m ready to make one and I’m looking forward to more of your videos. Thanks!

Wonderful, had me glued to it from start to finish. I find so often Video tutorials “fluff” around alot, and I lose interest, but not yours it was enthralling.I’m going to get a scoring blade for my cutter after seeing you use yours. Loved the background chatter as well.

What a fantastic first tutorial! Job very well done indeed. If you did want to include the measurements you could write them on a piece of paper and have them on the side of your work area. Looking forward to more of your great work!

Oh I love your tutorial! TFS – I’ll be making at least one – since someone sent me one of these little calendars for 2010. TFS

Excellent job on the video! Your instructions are clear & easy to follow. Looking forward to your next one.

Excellent well done.

Fantastic Work Nikki, I think to improve it, you should stick your head in the frame at the end and say Bye! With a huge Grin…lol. Or maybe I will do that if I ever get as clever as you (NOT).
Got to ask?….. How did you get the Camera to stay up in that position without hitting you in the head? Would love a Camera still shot of how you set this area up.
Again, VERY WELL DONE xx Luv Tracy

Aloha Nikki,
Love your desk top calendar tutorial except one thing; could you use inches for the deminsions instead of milimeters or centimeters. Most people show the measurements in inches. could you email me the instructions?

Hi Terry.
Being that I’m in Australia we use centimetres and millimetres that’s why the tutorial has been done that way. You should be able to work out the conversion which is what I do with the tutorials that are in Inches. I don’t have written instructions as yet but if/when I do I’ll put them on my blog.

Thanks Nikki for showing the demo it was fantastic. Loved it. I didn’t see the tutorial until I did a search. Fantastic job on the video. My only suggestion is maybe put your measurements and materials in your blog post or through the video so just in case they can’t hear the measurements on the video. Overall I think you did a wonderful job. Loved it. Thanks for sharing.
