All done + a competition…..

Last week at our school P & C Meeting we were working out the final touches to our Mother’s Day stall. We decided to make sure each child had a gift bag to put their gifts in for mum as most of the children seem to just hand over their gift in the plastic shopping bag they bring in on the day. You think the dad’s could arrange a little bit of wrapping paper now don’t you. We’ve opted to go with Kraft bags so the children can draw on them if they like to add their own touch. I then went on to ask if they (the rest of the committee and the principal) would like me to make a Mother’s Day card for each of the children. If dad can’t buy wrapping paper he probably doesn’t buy a card either. Lucky we don’t have too large a school but I still had to make 324 cards.

Last Sunday we had planned to go to Taronga Zoo for the day but when I woke up it was to rain. My husband and eldest daughter were off at the local Dawn Service for Anzac Day so I waited till they arrived home and we decided we’d leave the zoo for the following day as it was a Public Holiday. So what to do with my day seeing we’d be staying in and I was up and organised by 8am.

What else but to come up with my design and make a start on the Mother’s Day cards.

I came up with a nice quick design within 20 minutes. That’s probably a record for me but as I wanted simple it doesn’t have lots of layers.

By about 9:30am this is what I had on my table ready for the next step.

Cut card 2

I stopped for lunch with my neighbour, her little girl and my family at around 12:30pm till about 1:45pm or so and then went through till dinner time when I popped out and picked up some Pizza’s (I think hubby knew I wanted to get as many of the cards done that day as I could) and then worked through till 11:40pm and ended up with this….

Finished Cards

That’s right I got them all done in the one day.

Here’s a picture of the actual finished card so you can see how simple it was.

Even though it’s simple I think it’s effective and is more than enough.

Now for the competition part of the post.

If you’d like to enter and win this….

Set 1c

then you need to leave me a comment listing ALL the items I used to make the Mother’s Day cards. You need to be specific with correct colours (as I’ve used the same colour base card and ink you only need to list that colour once), stamp sets and names of other items not including the adhesive though…..

First correct entry will win one of my April Project Classes shown above ready made.

The competition is open to Australian residents and non-SU demonstrators only. Demonstrators are welcome to leave comments but please don’t list the products used.

Till next time……

  • I’ll give a few clues.

    Not all are current colours……

I’ve only used 1 tool but I won’t mark it wrong if you think I’ve used another

  • Hi Nikki, Can I be cheeky and have another guess and add to my original guess?
