Kindness

Well I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things in regards to creating again. This hopefully will mean I’ll be back into more regular posting again.

I have another Challenge card to share with you. It’s another colour challenge and this time it’s the Inkspiration Colour Challenge #72.

Here are the gorgeous colours provided for this week.

I started to think about this one last night but nothing was flowing so I decided to finish up the latest book I was reading and call it a night. However while I was having my shower this morning I was thinking about the colours and an idea came to me. So after getting some washing done and on the line, I then sat down to create my card and it flowed from there.

Here’s what I ended up with.

I’m really happy how this turned out. It’s a pretty clean and simple looking card but I think that’s why I like it so much. Of course those gorgeous colours have a lot to do with it too…..

So what do you think? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Awash With Flowers, Occasional Quotes (Hostess set)
Card: Pear Pizzazz, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, In Colours Pattern Stack – Peach Parfait
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Pear Pizzazz & Peach Parfait Inkpads and Stampin’ Write Markers
Accessories: Pear Pizzazz 1/2” Stitched Poly Ribbon, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Stamp-a-ma-jig

I’ve added a little bit of stamping to the inside to carry through the card.

Caged

I finally caved and ordered the Summer Mini set ‘Aviary’ after being tempted by so many wonderful creations of late using this set. It arrived today so I decided to use it for this weeks The Sweet Stop Sketch SSS93.

Here’s this weeks sketch.

I wanted to go bright with this card so using the fabulous Colour Coach (I know I say this a lot but it really is wonderful) and have selected from the Melon Mambo card the combination of Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise. I’ve used Whisper White as my neutral.

So are you ready to check out my bright creation?

All the DSP is from the Brights Pattern Stack. Having 4 different patterns for every colour in a collection all in one pack is great. You’re never without a DSP for any colour now and the pattern selection is super. You can always find something that will work with your creation.

I’ve used Whisper White as my card base. I never used to use Whisper White in this way until recently. I’ve always found it to be a little ‘weak or flexible’ for a base card compared to the coloured cardstock but when you add layers in this way (not even as many as this though) and also add a layer or 2 for an insert the card really is very strong.

I so much prefer the new Brights collection to the old one but I’m sure you’ve read that here before too.

Just For You…..

Many of you may have already seen the gorgeous inspiration picture for this week over on Just Add Ink, but just in case here it is again.

Aren’t Sunflowers just beautiful. They are so cheery and bright. One of my neighbours has some humungous ones in her front yard at the moment.

To enter this challenge, Just Add Ink 53, all you have to do is create something using this picture as your inspiration. It can be the colours, the flower, or even the feeling you get from the picture.

Now I looovvee Sunflowers but unfortunately Stampin’ Up don’t have a Sunflower image in their current stamp range. Maybe I need to suggest they add one…..lol

So for my card, I’ve gone with some of the colours in the picture, another flower, and the feeling of bright and cheery.

This is what I ended up with. P1000407

It’s nowhere near as bright as the picture is but I have used our brightest yellow being Daffodil Delight.

The colour combination I’ve used is from the Colour Coach using Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso (that’s 2 colours from the inspiration) and Cherry Cobbler. I’ve used a past Clean & Simple sketch which is #5 for the layout.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Greenhouse Garden, Just Believe
Card: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight Patterns DSP (Brights Pattern Stack)
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler brads (Regals pack), Stamp-a-ma-jig, Matt Pack & Paper Piercing tool.

So what do you think?

Elegant Soiree Tissue Box & Card update

Card snippet

I recently posted pictures of the Tissue Box cover I’d made as a gift and am finally back to show you the matching card that goes with it. The main image used on this card I initially intended on using on the Tissue Box cover but it turned out to be too large. I’ve used the ‘Awash with Flowers’ Stamp set.

This is the complete gift. Handmade part that is.
