A CASE

This next card is a CASE of the card Marelle Taylor made for our Shoebox swap last month.

This card was my April GTKY card for fellow demonstrator and Stampin Up in Oz group member Jodene Tripp. I’ll be meeting Jodene at Convention and can’t wait.

I have altered one of the colours from those that Marelle had used. I substituted Rich Razzleberry for Rose Red. As we don’t have a Rich Razzleberry marker (yet??) I used a blender pen and the lid of the inkpad to pick up the colour and add to the flowers on the stamp.

I also decorated the inside which looked like this:

Pony Party Birthday Invites

The Pony Party set is a cute set but not one I initially thought I’d purchase. However with my sales and recruiting through the Sale-A-bration period I earned Free stamp sets so decided I would select this set for one of those. I figured if I didn’t end up using it much I hadn’t actually outlayed money for it and then when it retired my girls would surely love to use it. (If they are good enough I’ll let them borrow it before then….hahaha)

Now having said all that when it came around to organising my daughter Lauren’s upcoming 10th Birthday Invitations it was the set I thought of straight away. Lauren’s having a ‘Disco Party’ for her birthday and Bop Till You Drop are coming along and doing the whole thing. Of course I’ll still have to organise food, party bags, and extra games for the last hour, as Bop Till You Drop are only here for the first 2 hours, but I’ll be able to have some fun too. I’ve already told my girls that if they aren’t going to ‘boogie’ I sure will be…….hahaha.

As the theme is ‘Disco’ and a Pony really doesn’t fit that theme normally but a glittered Pony does. Well I think so anyway.

Here’s the end result.

For the inside I printed the details onto Whisper White card using my printer and then cut them out with the Top Note Big Shot Die.

Lauren's Invite inside

(I’ve blacked out the details as I think 20 screaming girls in the house will be more than ample….hahaha)

I’ve stamped some butterflies and flowers on the Whisper White Top Note and daubered around the edges to give it that extra touch too.

I was very happy with the end result and received some lovely comments from some of the invited children and one of the mum’s that day.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Pony Party, Really Retro, Dream wheel
Card: Bashful Blue, Pixie Pink, Whisper White, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Apricot Appeal, Pretty In Pink, Pixie Pink, Bashful Blue, Gable Green
Accessories: Top Note Die, Big Shot, Blender Pen, Aqua Painter, Sponge Dauber, Scallop Oval Punch, Word Window Punch, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Pop back tomorrow to see what I’ve made for Lauren’s Party Bags.

Till next time….

Team Catch-up

I’m sorry I’ve had no new posts for a few weeks. Life has been busier than I expected. I was hoping that with school holidays I’d get lots more done and be blogging more regularly but it didn’t happen. The first week of the holidays flew by. The second week went just as quick but I had more exciting things on that week.

On the Wednesday my girls & I went off to the movies to see “The Last Song” starring Miley Cyrus. I hadn’t really seen much of the previews to this and seeing how my girls had suggested it I was expecting lots of singing. That’s not the case with this movie but I quite enjoyed it and so did my girls.

Now on the Thursday we had a team catch-up at my house. Our lovely team leader, Marelle Taylor, suggested we do a Shoebox swap. There was only 6 of us plus our children that could make it on the day but we still had lots of fun and the children all played well together too. We had a lovely lunch and dessert too which we all contributed to by bringing different things along. I’d have to say though that the highlight of the day was sitting down and doing our Shoebox swaps. This was the first one I’d participated in although some friends and I have one planned for August.

Would you like to see what we all made??

Now on with the show……

You may have arrived here from Nikki Sadler’s blog, but if you are starting here, don’t worry…..you can make the complete circuit just by following the links at the end of each post. There are 25 stops along the way, so that’s plenty of inspiration for you. We are also offering blog candy again which you can read more about how to enter at the end of this post.

I wasn’t exactly sure what I was going to share with you today. I love the Cottage Garden stamp set and coordinating Cottage Wall DSP. And who doesn’t like the Vintage Vogue stamp set?? But these were already being showcased by many others participating in the ESAD Blog Hop and I’d already used the Cottage Garden stamp set and Cottage Wall DSP in my team blog hop anyway.

So what did I decide to showcase?

After looking through the list of what the other Blog Hop participants were using I noticed one set seemed to be missing altogether and that was the Pendant Park stamp set.

Over the Easter weekend I was playing around with this stamp set using some different techniques and by the time I had 3 cards done I knew this was what I was going to use. My colour scheme came from the lovely Autumn Traditions DSP which I have used some in my 4th card to complete my set along with a quick bag to present them in. I hope you like them.

Card set 1

Card 1 - Emerging Colour

The first card I made I used the Emerging Colour technique. I haven’t played with this technique since we lost the Fabulous Flowers stamp set last main IB&C.  I love how the other colours peek out through the tree.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Sanded, Pendant Park, Autumn Days
Card: Always Artichoke, Ruby Red, More Mustard, Whisper White
Inks: Soft Suede, Elegant Eggplant, Ruby Red, Always Artichoke, More Mustard
Accessories: Brayer, Clear Embossing Powder, Word Window Punch, Heat Gun, Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Card 2 - Brayering

Seeing I already had my brayer out I decided to play around with a scenery.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Pendant Park
Card: Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Inks: Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: Photo Corner, Small & Large Oval Punches, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Brayer, Sponges.

Card 3 - Thumping

This time I decided to brighten the tree up by using the ‘Thumping’ technique. I love this multicolour tree and I’ve placed it in a pot plant made using the wide oval punch and I’ve stamped it using the lovely border image from the Pendant Park stamp set (initially the reason I wanted this stamp set…hahaha).

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Pendant Park, Thank You Kindly
Card: Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Ruby Red inkpads, More Mustard, Ruby Red, Always Artichoke  & Elegant Eggplant Stampin’ Write Markers.
Accessories: Word Window & Wide Oval punches, Earth Element brads.

Card 4 - Rock & Roll

My final card uses the ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ technique. I’ve Rock ‘n’ Rolled the stamp through 4 colours starting with More Mustard, then Ruby Red, Always Artichoke and finally Elegant Eggplant.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Pendant Park, Occasional Greetings
Card: Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant, Ruby Red, Whisper White, Autumn Traditions DSP
Ink: More Mustard, Ruby Red, Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant inkpads, Always Artichoke & Elegant Eggplant Stampin’ Write Markers
Accessories: Always Artichoke 1/4” grosgrain ribbon, Small & Large Oval punches, Paper piercing template & tool, Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Of course when you make a set of coordinating cards you need something to present them in. I decided upon a quick 12” x 12” bag using the Autumn Traditions DSP.

Card set 1 packaging

To finish off the bag I’ve added some of the gorgeous Soft Suede Polka Dot ribbon and then I’ve punched out 4 coloured word window punches along with one in Whisper White which I’d stamped ‘just for you’ on first.

That’s my projects for the hop.

To be eligible to win the blog candy you need to do the following.

  1. Leave a comment on every blog along the way.
  2. Once you have left all your comments you then email Sharlene Torres and let her know you have done so. Please mention whether you reside in Australia or New Zealand as there will be one winner from each country.
