It’s an idea I’ve CASED from Kirsty Brown. Kirsty was one of the Australian Demonstrators at Convention who did a Workshop WOW presentation for us. You can check out the card she did for the presentation here. Kirsty used a technique on her card but I decided to just use some of our gorgeous Designer Series Paper instead. I will be making more though and will definitely put the rest of Kirsty’s presentation idea into another.
I’ve combined Kirsty’s idea with a challenge, surprisingly so, for my creation today.
I’m not sure I like how the sentiment ended up on this one but it’s actually covering up a ‘first’ idea which I didn’t like at all. You may also notice that the inside has an edge of the image stamped down the side and some of the DSP the butterfly is cut from along the bottom to carry the look through.
Supplies: Stamp set: Notably Ornate, Thank You Kindly Card: Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Love Letters DSP, Neutrals Pattern Stack – Very Vanilla, Regals Pattern Stack – Riding Hood Red Ink: Basic Black, Riding Hood Red Accessories: Big Shot, Beautiful Butterflies die, Basic Jewels – Pearls, Very Vanilla 1/8” Taffeta Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals, 2-Way Glue Pen, Snail Adhesive.
I’d love to hear what you think of my creation so please leave me a comment.
I know it’s only June but I can’t believe how quick this year has gone so before too long it will be Christmas.
For the month of June I have been asked to be a Guest Designer over on Just Add Ink with this week being my first.
When I received the Sketch for this week’s Just Add Ink Challenge I wasn’t too sure what I was going to create. I was looking through the IB&C to decide on a stamp set, initially thinking of flowers as I always do, but then I decided to turn the sketch upside down and knew it had to be a Christmas card.
Here’s this weeks sketch JAI #70 (the right way up….lol)
And this is what I created.
Supplies: Stamp sets: Tree Trimmings, Snow Swirled Card: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Jolly Holiday DSP Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive inkpads, Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Circle die, Circle Scissor Plus & Glass Mat, Basic Jewels – Rhinestones, Old Olive 1/8” Taffeta ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Stick.
For the inside of the card I kept with the same layering and just added the Christmas verse.
So there’s my first weeks’ creation. It’s very simple but I’m happy with it. What do you think? Have I inspired you to start some Christmas stamping?
I am happy to report that I reached my sales goal for the year. Thanks to those that assisted with an order/s and also to myself for not being restrained enough to control my Autumn/Winter mini pre-order spending….lol. I don’t think there is much I didn’t purchase as it’s all gorgeous, but now need to get out of this creative lull I’ve been in and start using it all. I also want to thanks those demonstrators that shared some great creations online during March that changed my mind about particular sets so therefore helped also. The Autumn/Winter mini starts today and you can view it here. If you’d like a hard copy then email me and I’ll send one off to you.
As you may recall I needed another $1500 in sales to reach my goal. As I received each $100 order I allocated a number from 1 till I reached 15. I was also allocated numbers for my orders. This morning I’ve used Random.org to select the winning number and the results are below.
That’s right, there are only 2 more days left for the following.
To place any last minute orders for items in the Summer Mini Catalogue. The 2 3/8” Scallop Circle Punch is available.
To earn a FREE Sale-A-Bration set/s with every $100 purchase from the Idea Book & Catalogue 2010|2011 and/or the Summer Mini Catalogue.
To have a chance to WIN a BIG SHOT of your very own, or if you already own one, Stampin’ Up! product of your choice to the same value by placing an order of $100 with me. Read more here.
You can place an order by email or phone H: 02 9620 9092 or M: 0418 218 467. Orders can be shipped anywhere in Australia only. Payment is by Credit Card or Direct Deposit to my bank account however funds need to be in my account by March 31st so order can be placed.
That’s 6 colours and of course I decided to add a little Whisper White to my card also.
I don’t think I’ve seen a colour challenge with so many colours in it before.
I was a little unsure if I’d be able to make something I’d be happy with for this challenge, but after looking for a stamp set and coming up short on ideas I went with something a little different for me.
My focal point of the card is not stamping.
Here’s what I ended up creating.
I’ve used the Blossom Party Big Shot die.
I managed to get 4 of the 6 colours into the one flower and then included the last 2 as the base for the card.
The card layout is from Clean & Simple and is #123. I’ve reversed the sentiment and main image to the sketch though.
So what do you think? Did I pull it off?
