I am so thrilled to be a Guest Designer for Makeesha’s Colour Challenge this week.
We had some of my favourite colours to work with which made it less of a ‘challenge’ I suppose although so far, being that it’s school holidays, I’ve still only managed 1 card for the Challenge. Hopefully I’ll get to make a few more.
When I first saw the colours I immediately was drawn to the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set.
Here are the gorgeous colours we got to play with and now you can too. Just create a card or project using the colours in the challenge, pop on over to Makeesha’s site, scroll down till you find the InLinkz “Add Your Link’ button and add your details. Maybe you’ll have the opportunity of being a Guest Designer next……..
And here is my full creation. Unfortunately the colours on the cupcakes don’t show up as well in this photograph but you can see it better in the close up above.

Regal Rose would have to be my all time favourite Pink to date and So Saffron my all time favourite Yellow however I am holding out to see the new Daffodil Delight when it’s released here in Australia on 1st September. Maybe with the new colour changes my all time favourites might change too…..lol
I’ve kept the card fairly simply and used the Saturday Sketch Challenge 158 from Stamping 411. I’ve added one of Teneale Williams Perfect Faux Bows and you can’t really tell on this full card but on the snippet above you might be able to see that I’ve added some Crystal Effects to the cherries……
Supplies: Stamp sets: Crazy for Cupcakes Card: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Very Vanilla Ink: Stazon Black, So Saffron, Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip Accessories: Regal Rose 5/8” Grosgrain Ribbon, So Saffron button (Button Latte), Hemp Twine, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Blender Pen, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Till next time…..

The card I’m showing you today is actually a CASE from the swap card I received from Kerri Donsky at Convention last month. I needed something for my second Stamp-A-Stack card for last week as with Convention and then my party I’d left it very last minute. Mind you that’s the whole purpose of swap cards to me. To give inspiration and ideas to others. I hope someone likes my swap card enough that they put it to use too.
So here is the other card we made.

The only thing I have changed from Kerri’s card is the sentiment on this one. However Kerri did use another sentiment from the same stamp set, Upsy Daisy. Again you could use any of the sentiments from the Upsy Daisy stamp set or other stamp set for this card. It’s even a nice card for a male and if you thought the eyelet border on the card was a bit too girly you could change it out for the scallop edge instead or even leave it plain. Rather than ribbon Kerri used a thin strip of Bashful Blue card stock which she crimped. I loved that idea as it gives the card a bit more texture.
Supplies: Stamp sets: Asian Artistry (Level 2 Hostess Autumn/Winter Mini), Upsy Daisy, Sanded Card: Kraft, Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White Inks: Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue Accessories: Crimper, Eyelet Border Punch, Blender Pen.
Till next time…..

I love the colours in the new Cottage Wall DSP and of course the coordinating stamp set Cottage Garden (available in Clear Mount or Wood Mount), so I had to use them in my creations I’m sharing with you today. Rich Razzleberry is just gorgeous in real life so you will definitely need to order some cardstock, inkpad and ribbon asap and hopefully I’ll entice you on the Cottage Wall DSP and Cottage Garden stamp set too.
My creations were inspired by one of Andrea Walford’s Demo to Demo planners from back in September 2008 using Upsy Daisy. You may have seen this one before.

I only said the inspiration came from this. I love the box for the cards so I altered it to fit Australian sized cards (ours are a little narrower and a little taller) and created 4 cards to go along with it and came up with this.

Aren’t the colours just gorgeous. The more I look at this the more I like it.
I hope that’s what you think too.

Here’s a close up of the box.
I’ve made the main part of the box using Orchid Opulence cardstock and my alterations mean I can get this out of an A4 sheet. For the lid I’ve used some Old Olive textured cardstock. A strip of the new Cottage Wall DSP, some images stamped and cut out from the Cottage Garden stamp set and the verse (also from Cottage Garden) has been punched out using the Wide Oval punch and then I’ve layered it onto one of the lovely new ‘Lots of Tags’ dies.
Now for a closer look at the cards.

If you’d like to make your own set of these I’ll be running this as a Project Class on Thursday April 29th at my house in Lalor Park NSW with both a morning and evening session available. Email me for further details or to book your spot. I’m happy to bring the class to you if you have a group of 6 or more.
Supplies: Stamp sets: Cottage Garden, Occasional Greetings, Short & Sweet, On Your Birthday Card: Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Old Olive, Whisper White, Cottage Wall DSP Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Old Olive Accessories: Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon, Old Olive 5/8” Grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Edge, Wide, Large & Small Oval Punches, Lots of Tags dies, Paper Piercing template & tool, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Clear Rhinestone Brads, Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Well, that’s all from me. I hope you left your comment to be in with a chance at the ‘Blog Candy’. Now you’re off to enjoy the wonderful creations of Sharon Wilson. Thanks for stopping by!

Till next time…..

I’m sure you realise that we have a new Autumn/Winter Mini catalogue being released on Thursday April 1st (which happens to be my mum’s birthday) for the Australian & New Zealand Stampin’ Up! market. So what does that mean apart from some wonderful new products??
Blog Hops.
Yes, it is plural.
To start with, the team I’m part of which is run by the very talented and wonderful Marelle Taylor is holding a Blog Hop commencing at 9pm March 31st. Yep. That’s tomorrow night, so not long to wait now. We have 13 of our team participating in the Blog Hop and a special guest stamper, Teneale Williams, joining us too. Something new to our blog hop this time round, apart from Teneale that is, is that we are offering some ‘Blog Candy’. Details of how you can win will be included in the Blog Hop posts.
The next Blog Hop will be the ESAD-SU one which I will be participating in at 8am April 7th. They will also be having one at 8am April 1st and you can start that one from my fellow StampersAnonymous team mate, Juliette Chapman’s blog.
Would you like a sneak peek now??? No it’s not a sneak peek of my projects, you’ll have to come back and do the blog hops to see those, but it is a peek of a slight variation of one of the cards you can make at my Stamp-A-Stack class in April and it uses some of the gorgeous new products from the Autumn/Winter Mini. I have varied the card slightly for my mum’s birthday card with the sentiment.
For this card I’ve used a new stamp set, a lovely new In Color and a Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
What do you think??
Here’s how I finished the inside of the card.

Supplies: Stamp sets: Vintage Vogue, On Your Birthday Card: Rich Razzleberry, Very Vanilla, Pale Plum Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Pale Plum, Mellow Moss Accessories: Large Oval & Scallop Oval Punches, Clear Rhinestone Brads, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder.
Till next time….

My youngest daughter’s best friends birthday (boy that’s a mouthful) was on Friday so I was asked to make another ‘lolly’ card. You’ve probably guessed that by that she meant a card using the Sweet Treat cups and of course the coordinating set for that is Something Sweet.
I picked the colours for this card from the Sweet Always DSP but then when creating the card I didn’t really need to use it. Colours are Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White.
To incorporate the Pink Pirouette into the card I decided to add a faux bow using Teneale’s tutorial (which can be found in this post on her site) and Pink Pirouette striped grosgrain ribbon to fill in some of the blank space that would have otherwise been on the bottom of the card. I also used the Pink Pirouette ribbon on my slider. I like to add a slider to these cards so the lollies can be removed without damaging the card. I can hope can’t I??
I wish we had a better colour selection with our M&M’s but as we don’t I kept the colours to the orange and brown. I did try a mixture of the usual colours but it just didn’t look right having yellow, red, green and blue in there too.
It’s so hard buying presents for my own girls these days let alone someone else’s. My girls love receiving money for gifts and being able to go shopping to choose their own things so I decided to do the same for my daughter’s friend too. I didn’t want to just slip the money loosely into the card though so this is where the ‘sneak peek’ comes in.
I’m sure most, if not all of you, have heard by now that in our upcoming Autumn/Winter Mini catalogue released April 1st we will finally have the Big Shot. One of the dies we will also have is the Scallop Envelope which is an SU exclusive die. This die isn’t a big one but you can use it to make some wonderful creations still. As with most creations you are only limited by your own imagination or google searching time…..hahaha.
I decided to use the Scallop Envelope die as an envelope inside this card to tuck some money in. The Level 1 Hostess Paper pack is ideal for the Bigz dies and a great way to use up some of these lovely papers which is what I have used for my envelope as one of the colours in the pack is Regal Rose. This is the end result of the inside of my card complete with Birthday sentiment and one of the lovely sentiments from another Level 1 Hostess item, that being the ‘Best Yet’ stamp set.
Supplies: Stamp sets: Something Sweet, On Your Birthday, Best Yet (Level 1 Hostess set) Card: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Patterns Pack II (Level 1 Hostess set) Ink: Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Pumpkin Pie. Accessories: 3/4” Circle, Large Oval, Scallop Oval & Slot Punch, Pink Pirouette striped grosgrain ribbon, Button Latte, Sweet Treat Cup, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Bigz Die- Scallop Envelope, Crochet Cotten (non-SU)
I hope you’ve liked my card today and please leave me a comment and let me know.
Till next time…..
