Peaceful Petals

We have a new challenge for you today over at Inkspirational Challenges and this time it’s a…….

Guidelines: Create a project using any two or all three of the above colours. Any shade of these colours is acceptable and you may add black and realistic colours for skin, hair or fur.

I’ve used a new set from Stampin’ Up for my card today called Peaceful Petals.

I’ve stamped my image onto Watercolour Paper using Stazon Ink and watercoloured with an Aqua Painter and inkpad.

Here’s a closer look at the image.

Supplies: (All Stampin’ Up)
Stamps: Peaceful Petals, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Watercolour Paper, Subtles Pattern Stack
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive
Accessories: Chevron EF, Ovals Framelits, Occasions Paper Piercing Templates, Mat & Tool, Basic Jewels – Pearls, Word Window Punch.

Don’t forget to stop by Inkspirational, if you haven’t already, and see what the rest of the DT came up with for this challenge.

Birthday Wishes

Over at Inkspirational there have been a few changes.

First up is a change of ownership. The original owners had a lot on their plates, and something had to give. Unfortunately it was Inkspirational but they have handed the reins over to one of the DT so we will continue on.

The next change is that we are now a fortnightly challenge. Having said that our first challenge will be today, Wednesday 2nd October, but the next challenge will be Saturday 12th October and then fortnightly from then on.

The other main change is in regards to the types of challenges. We will still have different challenges but not in any order.

For today’s challenge we have a Colour Challenge for you.

You can choose just 2 of these colours or all 3. The choice is yours.

I decided to use all 3 in my card + white.

The only stamping in my card today is the sentiment which is from the ‘Bring on the Cake’ stamp set from Stampin’ Up!®.

I’ve used the new Hexagon Punch along with some new Pattern Stacks DSP in both Smoky Slate & Raspberry Ripple and an old Pattern Stacks DSP print for the Tempting Turquoise.

Looking at the ‘raspberry’ in the colour challenge, Melon Mambo might have been a better match but I’m still happy with the results.

I’ve added a little Whisper White Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and some paper-piercing around the top.

A reasonably quick and easy card to make and a great way to use up some scrap DSP.

I’m entering my card in the following challenges:

Amusing Challenges – Anything Goes

Challenges 4 Everybody – Challenge #30 Anything Goes

Craftin Desert Divas – Anything with a Sentiment

The Squirrel & The Fox – Challenge #52 Happy Birthday

Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge – Birthday Card

You’re the Best

We’ve had a lovely week of sunny weather here in Sydney this past week of school holidays, although we haven’t been able to do much as I have a sick child. Hubby’s just gone out with 2 of the girls for a while, another of my girls is at the movies with a friend, so that just leaves me at home with the sick child. She’s quite content watching her favourite shows and playing on the computer so I’m busy crafting.

I’ve just put together a quick card for two challenges.

First up is Dynamic Duos with their colour challenge DD#60.

I’ve put this together with the Sketch challenge CTS #35 from CAS(E) this Sketch.

For my card I’ve used 2 new stamp sets, Gorgeous Grunge and Hello, Lovely.

I have coloured the sentiment stamp using Stampin’ Write Markers and then this has been mounted to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The Gorgeous Grunge set is great for adding some background and it makes for such a quick card.

I hope you like what I have created.

Stamp sets: Gorgeous Grunge, Hello Lovely
Card: Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White
Ink: Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit Inkpads & Markers
Accessories: Basic Black 1/8” Taffeta Ribbon.

This week we have a COLOUR challenge for you.

I have used the sponsors image ‘Pearls in my Hair’ for my creation.

I’ve printed my image onto Cryogen White cardstock and then coloured with Copic Markers.

The colours I’ve used are:
Skin – E00, E000, E0000
Hair – E49, E47, E44, E43, E42
Dress – BV04, BV02, BV000, BV0000

My sketch is from this weeks ‘The Sweet Shop Sketch Challenge SSS217’

I found this sketch after I’d coloured my image, and layered my main piece and was deciding how to create the rest of the card. It was just great timing.

Here’s another angle.

I’m here with a quick challenge card today.

Over at Come and Get It they have a colour challenge for us this week.

Julie 06-09-13

I’ve decided to play along and create this very clean and simple card using the Kindness Matters stamp set from Stampin’ Up!® which will be retiring at the end of the month.

Here’s another view so you can see I’ve added some dimension to the card.

For the inside….

I managed to use all scraps (meaning no new full sheets were cut up) to make my card.

I’ve kept if very clean and you can see. Added some paper piercing around the Whisper White pieces for some added detail, but that’s it.

I used my Stampin’ Write Markers in Certainly Celery, Pretty Ink Pink & Wisteria Wonder to colour my butterflies. I love the variegated look to the larger butterfly.

Supplies: (All SU unless stated otherwise)
Stamp sets: Kindness Matters
Card: Pretty In Pink, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White
Ink: Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery & Wisteria Wonder Stampin’ Write Markers, Certainly Celery inkpad
Accessories: Paper Piercing Mat, Tool & Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I really like how this turned out and I hope it has inspired you.

Would love for you to leave me a comment and let me know if you like my card.
