I’ve made a few attempt to sit and create over the past few weeks but with no success. My Mojo still hasn’t come back after my ‘family issues’ which is a shame as I was on a roll till everything happened. I’ve printed up some challenges, sat down and looked at them and had no idea what to create. Couldn’t even select a stamp set for a colour combo or a sketch. Instead I’ve been doing lots of reading. I love books but I’m running out of storage space for them all and I really don’t like going to the library and borrowing books. I’d rather own them. So what did I do? I finally converted over and purchased myself a Kindle and I love it. I’ll be purchasing all future books this way unless it’s only available in paper…… I’ve have managed to put it down for a little while though and try and get creating again.
Earlier today I printed up 2 pages of challenges for sites that I like to participate in hoping to get back in the swing of things. I then decided to pull out all my new Autumn/Winter Mini sets as I need to start using these before they aren’t available anymore. I know that sounds odd as they have only just been released but unless my mojo comes back in leaps and bounds I many not get around to using them enough which would be a shame especially if they don’t end up in our next Idea Book & Catalogue 2011|2012 which will be released on 1st September.
I’ve had a busy few days with not much time for creating although I’m not sure my ‘mojo’ is fully back as yet from that break I had anyway. Hopefully my mojo will fully return and I”ll get back to more regular posting soon.
I have managed to sit down this morning and create one card which is for 2 challenges this week.
I always seem to struggle when using Pacific Point. It’s not that I don’t like the colour, it’s just that I find it very bright. With that said I’m happy with my end result with just little bits of Pacific Point showing through.
I have used the Pacific Point as my base card and layers. To this I’ve added some Peach Parfait Patterns DSP along with some Melon Mambo Patterns DSP and tied some Old Olive Taffeta ribbon around.
The main images are from the Level 2 Hostess set – Apple Blossom. The sentiment is from the stamp set – Taking Care of Business. I’ve also added a small rhinestone to the flower for a bit of sparkly but it doesn’t show up real well in this photo.
This card will be heading to one of the lovely ladies who has already placed an order to help me reach my sales goal for the end of the month. She’s also in the draw to WIN a FREE BIG SHOT. There is still time to place your order and be in the running and you don’t have to be a regular customer (nor do you need to become a regular customer of mine) to be eligible, you just need to live in Australia. To find out more, check out this post.
I hope to be back later with some more creations so till then……
That’s 6 colours and of course I decided to add a little Whisper White to my card also.
I don’t think I’ve seen a colour challenge with so many colours in it before.
I was a little unsure if I’d be able to make something I’d be happy with for this challenge, but after looking for a stamp set and coming up short on ideas I went with something a little different for me.
My focal point of the card is not stamping.
Here’s what I ended up creating.
I’ve used the Blossom Party Big Shot die.
I managed to get 4 of the 6 colours into the one flower and then included the last 2 as the base for the card.
The card layout is from Clean & Simple and is #123. I’ve reversed the sentiment and main image to the sketch though.
So what do you think? Did I pull it off?
