Secret Sister R3 Month 3

You may have gathered by now that each months items I’d focused on one of the colours she’d listed in her questionnaire so that means this month I got to play with Marina Mist.

P1000070

However for her 1st card I went with using another of the Stamp sets she had listed, Artistic Etchings, and decide the Love Letters DSP better suited it than Marina Mist would have. I was yet to use this set and it’s been some time since I’ve tried my hand at anything ‘Vintage’ looking. I really like the ruffled ribbon on this card.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Artistic Etchings
Card: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Love Letters DSP
Ink: Basic Black, Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Small & Large Oval Punches, Very Vanilla 5/8” Satin Ribbon, Sponge Dauber.

The main gift I sent was all done using a colour combination of Marina Mist and Very Vanilla along with the Medallion Stamp set again. I’ve also used more 5/8” Satin Ribbon (I’d have to say this is my favourite ribbon of them all followed closely by the 1 1/4” striped grosgrain),  lots of Pearls and Rhinestones.

Unfortunately I didn’t take any photos of the 2 boxes open to show what’s in them so I’ll just have to let you know.

P1000066

This smaller box on the right is a Dove Chocolate Box which I’d seen previously on Linda Craven’s blog (which she kindly shared her instructions with me) but was originated from Kerri Donsky. This box as 9 little sections which you can fit 2 Dove Chocolates in each. I placed a mixture of Caramel, Dark Chocolate and Mint Dove Chocolates in there. I hope she liked them.

P1000065

This larger box contained a 6” x 6” DSP sample of Designer Series Papers (all bar the 2 speciality packs in the IB&C) along with a 6” x 6” DSP sample of each of the Pattern Stacks. That’s 124 6” x 6” sheets of DSP. Also inside was a Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I’m pretty sure it was the Finial Press one which I hope wasn’t one she already had.

P1000069

The card is very simple but I’m happier with this one than the first one I did for Month 1.

And the last item I made for her was a Desktop Calendar. I also included 2 more of the Containers + 2011 Calendars for her so she could make some of her own.

P1000064

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Medallion, Apple Blossom (Hostess Level 2), A Word for You, Word Play
Card: Marina Mist, Very Vanilla, Marina Mist – Subtles Patterns DSP Stack.
Ink: Marina Mist
Accessories: Very Vanilla 5/8” Satin Ribbon, Jewels – Pearls, Jewels – Rhinestones, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Small Oval Punch.

I hope my sister enjoyed everything I made for you and can put it all to use.

Till next time….

Secret Santa Part 4

Well this is my last post for Secret Santa and I’ll be sharing what I made and bought to give to Marelle.

First up is the initial presentation. The Gift Bag.

P1000024

I’ve decorated a standard white paper bag using some Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and Jolly Holiday DSP on both sides of the bag. I’ve then cut out ‘Merry Christmas Marelle’ using some Jolly Holiday DSP, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Die and of course my Big Shot which appears on the front along with a line of Basic Jewel – Rhinestones. All girls love bling! Don’t they??

What’s inside the bag??

Lots of goodies.

First item out of the bag is a slider which contained one of Marelle’s favourite sweets – Peanut Brittle. It’s actually one of mine too although I was good and only purchased some for Marelle.

Next item out of the bag was this.

P1000018

I’ve been seeing a lot of these Star boxes around the blogging world lately and thought it would make a lovely addition to my gifts for Marelle. The box is one of Lauren Meaders wonderful tutorial creations. P1000023

What’s inside?

Another of Marelle’s favourite sweets – Toffees. Well I hope they are okay as Marelle did say ‘hard’ toffees and these are English Toffees and aren’t exactly hard.

The third item out of the bag was these little hexagonal boxes which are a tutorial from DigiChick.

P1000021

Inside these boxes was my Stampin’ Up product purchases.

P1000022

One contains a pack of Brights Brads and the other a pack of Brights Buttons.

And the final gift in the bag was……

P1000017

One of my Tissue Box covers. I was thrilled with how this one turned out. The colours are just gorgeous and better still Marelle loved it too.

I was asked by numerous fellow team members if I have a tutorial for my Tissue Box Covers and the answer at the moment is NO but I do have intentions of doing one up. I’m not sure if it will be before Christmas though as I have more end of school things on this week, plus a holiday before Christmas, but you never know I might get enough spare time to get it done and share with you all. When it’s done it will appear in my sidebar with the other tutorials so just keep watch. I’ll also post a brief message to let you know it’s ready for those that regularly visit or follow.

One last photo of all the items together.

Feel free to leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my gifts for Marelle.

Till next time….

Secret Santa Part 3

Now to share the items I made for my partner who was none other than our fabulous Team Leader, Marelle Taylor.

Here is the card I sent her earlier in the week.

P1000026

Actually to tell you the truth this isn’t her card but one very similar. I went and popped hers into the Post Box only to realise that I didn’t take a picture beforehand so came home and whipped up another while I remembered what it was like……lol

P1000027

I decorated the inside too with some of that gorgeous Cherry Cobbler paper from the Jolly Holiday DSP pack.

Decorating the inside just makes the card that much nicer and of course ties it all together.

Tomorrow I’ll share the gifts Marelle received at our Team dinner.

Till then…..

Yes it’s more……

projects using the Greenhouse Gala DSP.

I sure hope you aren’t getting tired of seeing all the things I’ve been creating using this DSP. As I’ve said before it wasn’t one that grabbed me to start with but it’s so easy to work with. The colours are just gorgeous and to have a lovely coordinating stamp set makes it so easy. Mind you the items I’m going to show you today don’t use any of the coordinating stamps.

Back in August I held a project class which consisted of one of Lauren Meader’s ‘Around Town Totes’ which I also included a Post-It Note holder and matching pen to complete the class.

These are the ones I created for that class which of course was using current DSP then but now retired. I don’t think I ended up sharing these at the time.

Around Town Totes x 2

These were using the Haiku and Raspberry Tart DSPs.

Around Town Totes - J & T

Here are the ones the class attendees made using different DSP again.

One uses another print from the Raspberry Tart and the other uses Urban Oasis.

I actually remade these items for the StampersAnonymous Blog Hop back on the 31st August using the Greenhouse Gala DSP and still had them on my display cabinet when a new Class attendee saw them last week and asked if I’d be able to do another class for them.

Of course I’m happy to do a repeat class at a convenient time and that happened to be last Wednesday night.

Around Town Tote & Post-It Note Holder 1

Here are the items again using the Greenhouse Gala DSP as in the Blog Hop and are what the class attendee made hers like although she used a different sentiment. I created the ‘Notes’ on the Post-It Note holder on the computer.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Occasional Greetings (Level 3 Hostess set)
Card: Real Red, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Greenhouse Gala DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Real Red Grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8” Circle Punch, Wide Oval Punch, Word Window Punch, Linen Thread, Mini Gel Pen, Post-It Notes.

Around Town Tote & Post-It Note Holder 2

I chose to use another print for my demonstration one in class and this is how that turned out.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Taking Care of Business
Card: Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Greenhouse Gala DSP
Ink: Pear Pizzazz & Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Markers
Accessories: Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon, Scallop Oval Punch, Small & Large Oval Punches, Wide Oval Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Gel Pen, Post-It Notes.

Don’t they all look very different. I think my favourite is the Pumpkin Pie one from current DSP but it was previously the Haiku one…..

Elegant Soiree Tissue Box & Card update

Card snippet

I recently posted pictures of the Tissue Box cover I’d made as a gift and am finally back to show you the matching card that goes with it. The main image used on this card I initially intended on using on the Tissue Box cover but it turned out to be too large. I’ve used the ‘Awash with Flowers’ Stamp set.

This is the complete gift. Handmade part that is.
