projects using the Greenhouse Gala DSP.

I sure hope you aren’t getting tired of seeing all the things I’ve been creating using this DSP. As I’ve said before it wasn’t one that grabbed me to start with but it’s so easy to work with. The colours are just gorgeous and to have a lovely coordinating stamp set makes it so easy. Mind you the items I’m going to show you today don’t use any of the coordinating stamps.

Back in August I held a project class which consisted of one of Lauren Meader’s ‘Around Town Totes’ which I also included a Post-It Note holder and matching pen to complete the class.

These are the ones I created for that class which of course was using current DSP then but now retired. I don’t think I ended up sharing these at the time.

These were using the Haiku and Raspberry Tart DSPs.

Around Town Totes - J & T

Here are the ones the class attendees made using different DSP again.

One uses another print from the Raspberry Tart and the other uses Urban Oasis.

I actually remade these items for the StampersAnonymous Blog Hop back on the 31st August using the Greenhouse Gala DSP and still had them on my display cabinet when a new Class attendee saw them last week and asked if I’d be able to do another class for them.

Of course I’m happy to do a repeat class at a convenient time and that happened to be last Wednesday night.

Around Town Tote & Post-It Note Holder 1

Here are the items again using the Greenhouse Gala DSP as in the Blog Hop and are what the class attendee made hers like although she used a different sentiment. I created the ‘Notes’ on the Post-It Note holder on the computer.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Occasional Greetings (Level 3 Hostess set)
Card: Real Red, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Greenhouse Gala DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Real Red Grosgrain ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8” Circle Punch, Wide Oval Punch, Word Window Punch, Linen Thread, Mini Gel Pen, Post-It Notes.

Around Town Tote & Post-It Note Holder 2

I chose to use another print for my demonstration one in class and this is how that turned out.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Taking Care of Business
Card: Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Greenhouse Gala DSP
Ink: Pear Pizzazz & Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Markers
Accessories: Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon, Scallop Oval Punch, Small & Large Oval Punches, Wide Oval Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Gel Pen, Post-It Notes.

Don’t they all look very different. I think my favourite is the Pumpkin Pie one from current DSP but it was previously the Haiku one…..

Elegant Soiree Tissue Box & Card update

Card snippet

I recently posted pictures of the Tissue Box cover I’d made as a gift and am finally back to show you the matching card that goes with it. The main image used on this card I initially intended on using on the Tissue Box cover but it turned out to be too large. I’ve used the ‘Awash with Flowers’ Stamp set.

This is the complete gift. Handmade part that is.

Photo Coasters & Gift Box class

Blog Hop 7Coaster box

Last week I held my Project Classes for October which was decorating a set of Photo Coasters and then making a coordinating Gift Box to present them in.  I have posted more photos of the full coaster set and how this box actually opens which you will find in this previous post.

Seeing I was holding this class at 3 separate times, I didn’t want to end up with 4 identical sets (my original + a demonstration one from each class), so I decided to use some of the other Greenhouse Gala DSP designs.

Coaster Box 2 & 3

For the first 2 classes I went with the same ‘other’ pattern but used a different base cardstock.

I’ve used Baja Breeze on one and Chocolate Chip on the other. When stamping the images for the Photo Coasters I stamped 2 in Chocolate Chip and 2 in Baja Breeze. Seeing there was only 3 colours in this paper (of course that doesn’t include the Whisper White) I thought it would look a bit odd if I did a coaster in each of the 3 colours and then doubled up on just one. I’ve used the Whisper White Satin ribbon for these 2 Gift Boxes.

For the final class I went with this print.

Coaster Box & Coaster Set 4

I wasn’t sure how this one would look as it was a pattern I didn’t think I’d use much and didn’t want to end up with just this print left from every pack I buy. So I figured ‘why not use it and see’ and you know what I really like it.

Lots of colours in the print so I was able to do each of the coasters in a different colour. This time around I’ve used Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon. I’d have to say the Satin ribbons are a big favourite of mine and would already be my most used ribbon type.

So what do you think?? Do you have a preference??  Leave me a comment and let me know.

Elegant Soiree Tissue Box Cover

I was so happy with how my Blueberry Crisp Tissue Box Cover turned out I decided I’d make another one for a gift I needed. Instead of making it the same though I chose to use the Elegant Soiree DSP along with the Awash with Flowers stamp set.

This is how it turned out.

I’m happy with how this one turned out too but I still think I like my Blueberry Crisp one more…….

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Awash with Flowers, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Elegant Soiree DSP
Inks: Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Jewels – Basic Pearls, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, Snail Adhesive, Nestabilities (non-SU)

Another Greenhouse Gala Gift Idea.

I’ve probably said this before but when I first saw the Greenhouse Gala DSP it didn’t really grab me. If it wasn’t for the fact that it was 1 of only 2 choices of DSP we could purchase in our pre-order I probably wouldn’t have bought it. Not right away anyway. However, I’m sure you’ve gathered by now, that is if you are a frequent visitor to my blog, that I actually really like it.

So today I have another project which would make a great Christmas Gift also using Greenhouse Gala DSP, but it’s one of the other prints.

This idea came from Carla Brasher who is doing a 12 Weeks Till Christmas Free Tutorials of gift ideas. Carla’s project is done using a Christmas theme obviously, but I thought I’d remake it using non-Christmas papers & stamps so it could be used all year round. So I used Greenhouse Gala and the Friends Never Fade stamp set again.

Here’s a picture of Carla’s project and if you click on the picture it will take you to her 12 weeks of Christmas tutorials.

When I purchased my candles I thought I’d selected the same size that Carla had used but it wasn’t until I was making up the box that I realised mine were that little bit larger. Seeing that I used different stamps I was happy with the size I’d purchased in the end and it wasn’t too much trouble to adapt my box size to fit.

This is my finished project.
