Merry Christmas.

I know it’s only June but I can’t believe how quick this year has gone so before too long it will be Christmas.

For the month of June I have been asked to be a Guest Designer over on Just Add Ink with this week being my first.

When I received the Sketch for this week’s Just Add Ink Challenge I wasn’t too sure what I was going to create. I was looking through the IB&C to decide on a stamp set, initially thinking of flowers as I always do, but then I decided to turn the sketch upside down and knew it had to be a Christmas card.

Here’s this weeks sketch JAI #70 (the right way up….lol)

And this is what I created.

Nikki Stalker

Stamp sets: Tree Trimmings, Snow Swirled
Card: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Jolly Holiday DSP
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive inkpads, Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker
Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Circle die, Circle Scissor Plus & Glass Mat, Basic Jewels – Rhinestones, Old Olive 1/8” Taffeta ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Stick.

For the inside of the card I kept with the same layering and just added the Christmas verse.

So there’s my first weeks’ creation. It’s very simple but I’m happy with it. What do you think? Have I inspired you to start some Christmas stamping?

Till next time….

This week over at Just Add Ink they have an Inspiration challenge, JAI #63, and here’s what they gave us for the inspiration.

That’s a fun looking photo with lots of bright colour.

The colours I decided to pull from this photo were Daffodil Delight, Certainly Celery, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Black.

I decided to layer my colours in a similar fashion to how they appear in the photo and I’ve added a red flower with a yellow centre to resemble the flower petals around their necks.

This card is actually a lot brighter in real life. This photo makes the Daffodil Delight look more like So Saffron but it’s not.

Stamp sets: Word Play
Card: Daffodil Delight, Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Brights Pattern Stack (Real Red)
Ink: Stazon Jet Black
Accessories: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Crimper, Brights Buttons (Daffodil Delight), Birds & Blooms Sizzlits die, Crochet Thread & needle (non-SU)

Till next time…..

I’ve had a busy few days with not much time for creating although I’m not sure my ‘mojo’ is fully back as yet from that break I had anyway. Hopefully my mojo will fully return and I”ll get back to more regular posting soon.

I have managed to sit down this morning and create one card which is for 2 challenges this week.

First up is the Colour Challenge #25 from Rubber Redneck.

Color Round Up # 25

Next is the Sketch Challenge #59 over at Just Add Ink.

I always seem to struggle when using Pacific Point. It’s not that I don’t like the colour, it’s just that I find it very bright. With that said I’m happy with my end result with just little bits of Pacific Point showing through.

I have used the Pacific Point as my base card and layers. To this I’ve added some Peach Parfait Patterns DSP along with some Melon Mambo Patterns DSP and tied some Old Olive Taffeta ribbon around.

The main images are from the Level 2 Hostess set – Apple Blossom. The sentiment is from the stamp set – Taking Care of Business. I’ve also added a small rhinestone to the flower for a bit of sparkly but it doesn’t show up real well in this photo.

This card will be heading to one of the lovely ladies who has already placed an order to help me reach my sales goal for the end of the month. She’s also in the draw to WIN a FREE BIG SHOT. There is still time to place your order and be in the running and you don’t have to be a regular customer (nor do you need to become a regular customer of mine) to be eligible, you just need to live in Australia. To find out more, check out this post.

I hope to be back later with some more creations so till then……

Another Just Add….

I’m back with another card for this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge #58 but this time it’s a ‘Just Add Danielle’ creation.

Here’s Danielle’s card that I chose to CASE.

My CASE of this card also fit this weeks Play Date Cafe Challenge #71 which is to use Black & White with just a splash of 1 other colour.

I’ve changed the So Swirly wheel that Danielle used on the top of her card for the Friendly Words wheel and to add my splash of colour I changed the Basic Black taffeta ribbon to Marina Mist taffeta ribbon.

It’s a very quick & clean looking card. I did use the Wheel Guide on the top but that’s just because I’m a little ‘anal’ and like things straight so I played it safe……lol

Stamp sets: Occasional Greetings, Friendly Words Jumbo Wheel
Card: Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Marina Mist 3/8” Taffeta ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stampin’ Around Wheel Guide (optional)

Edited to add: This card was picked as a Just Add Ink Top Pick for the week and I also received a ‘The Cream In Our Coffee’ award from The Play Date Cafe.

Till next time…

Just Add…..

This week’s challenge #58 over on Just Add Ink is to ‘Just Add Amanda or Danielle’

We need to CASE a card created by either Amanda or Danielle (or you could CASE one from each of them) and of course share it here and over at the challenge site.

So far I’ve just CASED Amanda but I hope to CASE one of Danielle’s too before the challenge ends.

This is the card by Amanda.

And here’s my CASE.

I didn’t think number butterflies would look too good so I used the little gift stamp from Party Hearty instead. Not sure it works but …….

Stamp sets: Occasional Quotes (Hostess set), Party Hearty
Card: Pacific Point, Whisper White, Celebrations DSP
Ink: Old Olive, Real Read, Pacific Point
Accessories: Lots of Tags Sizzlits die, Real Red 5/8” Satin Ribbon, Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Big Shot.

I’ve carried the theme over to the inside of the card also.

Check back later and see if I’ve been able to CASE Danielle too

Till then…..
