This weeks challenge over at Just Add Ink is to use Black & White only in your creation and is Challenge JAI 71.
I’m really happy with how my card turned out this week, especially since it was a bit of a rush job as I’d left it ‘last minute’ to complete. I do mean ‘last minute’ too as I was making this card at around 11pm the night it was due to be submitted. That’s not usually like me but I’d overlooked it till around 2pm that day and had other things on with my family that afternoon and evening before I could sit down and create something. I’m just glad the idea and card all came together reasonably easy. The hardest part was deciding on what words/sentiment to put on it.
This week over at Just Add Ink they have an Inspiration challenge, JAI #63, and here’s what they gave us for the inspiration.
That’s a fun looking photo with lots of bright colour.
The colours I decided to pull from this photo were Daffodil Delight, Certainly Celery, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Black.
I decided to layer my colours in a similar fashion to how they appear in the photo and I’ve added a red flower with a yellow centre to resemble the flower petals around their necks.
This card is actually a lot brighter in real life. This photo makes the Daffodil Delight look more like So Saffron but it’s not.
Supplies: Stamp sets: Word Play Card: Daffodil Delight, Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Brights Pattern Stack (Real Red) Ink: Stazon Jet Black Accessories: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Crimper, Brights Buttons (Daffodil Delight), Birds & Blooms Sizzlits die, Crochet Thread & needle (non-SU)
I’m back with another card for today. For this card I’ve used this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #176. It’s been quite a while since I’ve participated in a Mojo Monday challenge but it was good to play along again.
Here’s the sketches we were provided with.
I’ve chosen to use the Square layout for my card and this is the end result.
I’ve used a few ‘new to use’ items on this card. I don’t think I’ve used the Lap of Luxury DSP before or the ‘Style Beautiful’ stamp set. The flower trim is using one of the Itty Bitty Shapes punches which I only received a few days ago.
Supplies: Stamps: Style Beautiful Card: Basic Gray, Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink, Lap of Luxury DSP Ink: Basic Gray Accessories: Itty Bitty Shapes punch, Basic Jewels – Pearls, Tombo Mono Multi adhesive.
I haven’t used the Sweet & Sour DSP as yet but when I saw this weeks Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #55 I was the first DSP I thought of.
Here’s the Sketch for this week.
And here’s my creations.
I’ve randomly stamped the Filigree Background in Versmark onto the Pumpkin Pie cardstock.
The DSP squares are punched using the 1 1/4” square punch then layered onto some Rose Red cardstock.
I’ve stamped the ‘For You’ image from Punch Bunch (Sale-A-Bration set) using Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive markers, omitting the scallop border and punched this out with the 1 3/4” circle punch. This is then mounted onto a Pumpkin Pie Scallop Circle punch piece.
A piece of Very Vanilla Satin ribbon finishes it off.
