“B” is for ……

Boys

Birthday

or maybe

Both……

Over on Krista Driessen’s Cards & Things Challenge Blog this week is a Colour Challenge.

This is the colours Krista provided.

These colours made me think ‘Boys’ and then while deciding on a stamp set I came across ‘Party Hearty’ and thought ‘Birthday’.

Considering it was only a week or so ago I was saying I struggle with ‘Male’ cards I think I’m starting to ‘not struggle’ any more…..lol

I’ve used a sketch from Card Positioning Systems and it’s #180.

P1000393

Here’s what I came up with.

What do you think??

All layers of the main image (the centre piece too) is all mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it a bit of a lift.

Very simple but I think very effective.

Supplies:
Stamps: Party Hearty
Card: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Old Olive Patterns DSP (Brights Patterns Stack)
Ink: Old Olive & Pacific Point Markers
Accessories: 3/4” Circle Punch.

Till next time……

Elegant Soiree Tissue Box & Card update

Card snippet

I recently posted pictures of the Tissue Box cover I’d made as a gift and am finally back to show you the matching card that goes with it. The main image used on this card I initially intended on using on the Tissue Box cover but it turned out to be too large. I’ve used the ‘Awash with Flowers’ Stamp set.

This is the complete gift. Handmade part that is.

Razzleberry Elements

September SAS close up

I’m back to share the other card those that attended my September Stamp-A-Stack classes got to make.

This time we’ve used the beautiful ‘Elements of Style’ stamp set and some of the new 1 1/4” striped ribbon. I hate to admit it but I really didn’t think I’d fuss with this ribbon at first. Then I saw the gorgeous creation Marelle made for our recent blog hop and new I had to have some. Well this is the 2nd card I’ve shown you in just a few days were I’ve used it and I’m sure you will see lots more of it.

My card was CASED from this card on Splitcoaststampers and I’ve just changed out the colours. I loved how simple yet elegant it looked.

Here’s the full card.

Most of the ladies finished off the card with a sentiment also. They also decided to loose the little Jewelry Tag punch and words on the front and instead made them Birthday Cards.

This is how they turned out with that little adaption.

Shimmery For You

Shimmer paint close up

The other technique I taught for September was using the new Shimmer Paints. This was the first time I had used them and they are just gorgeous in real life. Unfortunately they don’t photograph real well or I haven’t worked out yet how to so you can see the shimmer anyway.

Rich Razzleberry would have to be one of my new favourite colours since the Autumn/Winter Mini but I wasn’t sure what other colours I would use with it at first. I pulled out the new Colour Coach to see what suggestion it had and ended up with my colours for this card of Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive & Pumpkin Pie.

Lots of new goodies used on this card too.

Shimmer paint technique September 10

I’ve used the ‘For You Flower’ a la carte stamp combined with the stem & leaves stamp from the ‘Sweethearts’ stamp set. The ‘For You Flower’ has a coordinating punch which makes this a great one to use if you want to pop it up without having to worry about cutting out. I’ve also used some of the new Pumpkin Pie 1 1/4” Striped Grosgrain ribbon which I’ve added a new Rich Razzleberry button to. I didn’t use buttons much in the past but I can see me using lots of the new collections.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: For You Flower, Sweetheart
Card: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie & Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry reinker, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint
Accessories: 1 1/4” Pumpkin Pie Striped Ribbon, Bold Collections buttons, Fancy Flower Punch, 1 1/4” circle punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, sponge dauber, crochet cotton (non-SU)

Till next time…..
