Regal Bliss

I’m back with my 2nd card and challenge for the day. I won’t get back with a 3rd unfortunately but I’ve also realised that the other challenge has already ended anyway.

This card is for the Just Add Ink challenge JAI54.

Here are the colours we were given.

My end result isn’t what I’d envisioned but I’m running out of time on the challenge deadline.

P1000427

Obviously I’ve used this set before but I still have something new on here. Any guesses??

I was originally planning on hanging some tiny tags from the crochet trim but the stamped image layer looked better where it was than centred which meant I needed something in the bottom section. I’m not sure if I like the sentiment there but nothing else seemed to work.

This colour combination probably isn’t one I’d jump to use too often but I may try it again as it’s all about the quantities and placement of the colours used.

Supplies:
Stamps: Bliss, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Subtles Pattern Stack (Rose Red)
Ink: Soft Suede, Regal Rose, Early Espresso
Accessories: Crochet Trim, Basic Jewels – Pearls, Word Window Punch.

Till next time….

Butterfly Bliss

I’ve combined 2 challenges for my card I’m about to share with you all.

First up is the Colour Throwdown Challenge #127 and the layout is the Sketch Frenzy Friday SFF020411.

I’m using the ‘Bliss’ stamp set from Sale-A-Bration as it works lovely with these colours and layout for a quick, yet elegant card.

Colourful Birthday Wishes

When I first saw this weeks Utah Divas International Colour Challenge #21, I wasn’t sure what I was going to make.

As you can see there is a lot of colour going on there.

After a quick flick through the IB&C for a suitable stamp set, nothing really grabbed me for these colours. I was almost going to use my new Aviary set again but then realised that the Sweet Summer Sale-A-Bration set would work.

The layout for my card is a past Clean & Simple Sketch (Sketch #92).

So I’ve got the Tempting Turquoise in their with the Scallop circle and some highlights on the bird image. The Melon Mambo is the base card. Regal Rose for the flowers. Certainly Celery for the leaves and DSP and lastly the Bashful Blue on the bird image.

I’ve also used the So Happy For You Sale-A-Bration stamp set for the sentiment. That means I’ve now used them all.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Sweet Summer, So Happy For You (Sale-A-Bration)
Card: Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Ink: Regal Rose, Bashful Blue, Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Stazon Jet Black
Accessories: Whisper White 5/8” Satin Ribbon, Blender Pen, Nestabilities (Non-SU)

Till next time….

Butterfly Birthday

My eldest daughter has a birthday party to attend for her best friend this afternoon so last night I needed to make up a gift box for her present. I was also asked to make the card. My girls do have a good supply of their own Stampin’ Up goodies but seeing I was making the gift box I’d just make the card to coordinate.

I managed to make the gift box last night which was an idea that came from Sarah Wills’ gorgeous Carton Style gift box which you can see and also download a tutorial for here. Unfortunately my gift box needed to be a little bigger than the one in Sarah’s tutorial so I had to alter how I did mine but the outcome looks just the same. Of course I’ve used different colours, stamps and embellishments too.

Here’s my version of the gift box.

If you’re a regular visitor to my blog you may notice that I’ve used the same colour combination as in my last post creation here. Some of my stamping buddies were looking at this card at our stamp night last night when my daughter was selecting the colour combination for the gift box and when she saw it she wanted those same colours. Seeing how her friends favourite colour is blue the Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo & Daffodil Delight combo would work perfectly.

The completed gift box measures 7.5cm (or 2 15/16”) wide, 7.5cm (or 2 15/16”) deep and 11.5cm (or 4 1/8”) high (not including the handles) which makes for plenty of room for the Nutrimetics gift we’ve packed inside.

I’ve used the Brights Pattern Stack DSP in Melon Mambo & Daffodil Delight for layering. The Happy Birthday is from the Punch Bunch Sale-A-Bration set. My daughters friend also likes butterflies so I’ve used the Beautiful Wings Embosslits die for some embellishments and topped it off with some retired Melon Mambo Polka Dot ribbon.

I sat down to make the card this morning and decided to use this weeks Cards & Things Sketch Challenge #64 as my layout for the card.

Here’s the layout provided.

Keeping with the colour scheme, stamp set & embellishments used on the Gift box this is what I created.
