Summer Mini Catalogue

Idea Book & Catalogue 2009|2010

A Thank You gift for me.

I received a lovely surprise package in the mail yesterday and it was from my partner for the last ESAD Secret Sister round, Sonia Garbutt.

Sonia had made me a ‘Thank You’ gift for the items she received from me. Now this was not necessary and is not a requirement to the swap so it was very much unexpected but certainly appreciated.

Thank you gift from Sonia Garbutt

This is what Sonia made for me.

Sonia has used the new Kaleidoscope DSP from the Summer Mini Catalogue along with coordinating Bold Brights cardstock & inks and one of my all time favourite stamp sets, Great Friend, which unfortunately is not available at present but I do so hope it makes the next IB&C released 1st September 2010. If it doesn’t I still don’t think I could part with it straight away. Of course you can also see some of the wonderful Ice Rhinestone Circle brads used on this wonderful project.

I’m sure you’ve heard me say before that I’m really not a Bold Brights kind of girl (unless of course you are a new visitor to my blog) but this Kaleidoscope DSP has changed that a little and I’ve probably used more Bold Bright colours since the release of the Summer Mini than I have in the 3 1/2 years prior with Stampin’ Up!. Let’s just hope that when this mini finishes my using Bold Brights more doesn’t go with it….hahaha.

So would you like to see what’s inside????

Check it out.

Sonia has created some note paper hand stamped with some images from the Great Friend stamp set.

Wasn’t I a lucky girl?

I’m sure I’ll be CASING this great project soon.

Till next time….

Secret Sister – December Part 2 Reveal

As I wrote in my last post I wanted my reveal to be extra special so I didn’t want to send ‘just a card’. I had spotted an item while blog surfing earlier in December that I wanted to make so that’s what I did for Sonia except mine was made using Not Quite Navy and again I’ve use the gorgeous Bella Bleu DSP.

Easel Drawer Unit front

This is a 4 drawer unit (1 on each side) with an Easel card on the top. I’ve teamed it with the Friends 24-7 stamp set and coordinating Friendly Words jumbo wheel.

Here’s the back view.

Easel Drawer Unit back

I wanted Sonia to be able to use this so I decided not to write on it. I packed this up with lots of bubble wrap and tissue paper to fill the postage box for protection and then included a little note inside the top of the box for Sonia. I told her how happy I was to have been her Secret Sister for this round and how much I’ve enjoyed making the gifts for her and her family. I then went on to tell her she’d have to find the post-it note on the final item for the reveal. I didn’t hide it in a difficult spot so don’t worry she didn’t have to pull all the drawers out, but I did think about it….hahaha.  Inside each of the drawers was a little something extra for her. One had some Dove choccies, another had a sample of Playground buttons and another had the Sherbert buttons and the final one …..boy I can’t remember. I’m sure it was either something nice to eat or something for Sonia to use……hahaha.

Well that’s the last of my gifts for this round of Secret Sister for ESAD-SU. I’m still participating in one for Stampin’ Up in Oz which ends in February so I’ll be able to share those items in March.

Till next time…..

Happy Stamping

Secret Sister – December Part 1

I wasn’t as organised for December as I hoped I would be some my first item I sent to Sonia was actually her gift. It was only sent off the week before Christmas so I was praying it would arrive in time. I had also included some gifts for her 2 little girls and a little something for her hubby.

This is the gift for Sonia.

Sonia's gift packaging

Sonia's gifts

Inside was more gifts. I had wrapped everything individually.

There was the Soft Subtle Watercolour Wonder Crayons she had on her wish list, along with both Circle & Square Aluminium Tags. I also included a lovely Lemon Meringue scented soap and a chocolate wallet.

Here’s a closer view of the chocolate wallet.

Snow Swirled was the other set Sonia had mentioned was a favourite of hers so I wanted to incorporate it into this months gift as much as possible. In the past when I’ve made these Chocolate Wallets I’ve decorated with DSP but this time I created my own by randomly stamping the snowflakes from Snow Swirled onto Whisper White card using Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss. I’ve wrapped the chocolates in some Baja Breeze & Kiwi Kiss Patterns DSP which is plain but I’ve stamped the Snowflakes to give it a pattern. I was really happy how this turned out and hope Sonia was too. From her message to the group after unpacking her gift on Christmas Day it seems she was.

The last bit of Sonia’s gift was her Christmas Card which of course I’ve use the Snow Swirled stamp set on.

Christmas Card

To stamp the tree I’ve used the direct to rubber technique using Stampin’ Write Markers. I’ve used the same colour theme as I have made my own In Colour markers using Carol Dunstan’s tutorial

Next up is the gift for her littlest girl.

Ava's gift

I’ve wrapped some Ocean themed soaps in Ski Slope DSP and tied some of SU’s gorgeous Real Red Polka Dot grosgrain ribbon which is available in the Summer Mini. I have also put some Christmas Jelly Beans in a Test Tube, with more of that lovely ribbon and a personalise tag.

Lucinda's present

For Sonia’s big girl I had to create some packaging to fit her gift and this is what I came up with. This box has been decorated using the Holiday Treasures DSP, Ruby Red cardstock and Baja Breeze striped ribbon.   Inside this box is a Honey Bear bubble bath. Of course she received the same Test Tube filled with Christmas Jelly beans all personalised for her too.

So as not to leave her hubby out (we all know how men feel when they don’t get something too……) I created this Chocolate Box just for him using Ski Slope DSP.

Gift for hubby

Inside it contained some Ferrero Rocher chocolates and an assortment of Hot Chocolate and Cappuccino sachets.

As I still had one more card to send which would be my reveal I wanted to send something extra special.

Check back tomorrow to see what it was.

Till then…..

Secret Sister – November Part 2

The last package I sent to Sonia for this month I’ve again used the Circle Circus set for however I haven’t used as much Not Quite Navy.

Card 2 Gift 2

I created some wrapping paper by stamping 4 images from Circle Circus randomly over white wrapping paper to coordinate with the card using Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango and Sahara Sand. Inside this was a packet of Stampin’ Up Brushed Metallic cardstock.

Here’s a closer look at the card.

Card 2

I’ve used a base card of Sahara Sand, a scallop edge piece of Not Quite Navy, Whisper White which is randomly stamped using the same images and colours as used on the paper above. Tied a piece of Old Olive grosgrain ribbon around the top and the sentiment is from Really Retro.

I had fun with this set and must put it to more use.

See you tomorrow for the first part of the final month.

Till then…..

Secret Sister – October Part 2

As I mentioned yesterday I kept with the same theme for this next card and gift which were my final items for October.

Not only was I enjoying making the Tri-Fold cards at the time but I was enjoying creating the Scallop Edge Medallions too. So this card incorporates the later.

Card 2 front

I have a Not Quite Navy base card again, added a strip of Urban Garden DSP which I’ve attached a Kiwi Kiss scallop edge to first, a double layer Scallop Edge Medallion, a square scallop punch and then a Baja Breeze butterfly from Great Friend which I’ve added 2 1/2 backed white pearls to from the Pretties Kit. The ‘for you’ is stamped in Baja Breeze onto Whisper White, the edges have been daubered with Not Quite Navy and then punched out using the Small Oval punch, and finally layered onto a Kiwi Kiss large oval punch before mounting to card.

And here’s the handmade gift I sent.

Gift Box

Not quite Navy box decorated using some Urban Garden DSP, with the Great Friend butterfly featuring on the belly band.

What did the box contain?????

Gift and Card 2 open

Inside was a packet of Antique Brass Build-A-Brads, a packet of Darrell Lea Caramel Snows and a sample pack of In Color striped grosgrain ribbon.

I hope you’ve liked today items. Till tomorrow……

Happy Stamping
