I’m finally here with something I can share with you. I haven’t been doing a lot of crafting of late but what I have done I can’t share as it’s for Secret Sister swaps, so will have to wait till January after the December reveal. Apart from these swaps, I’ve just been busy with life and preparing for our trip to Fiji in a few weeks. We are all getting excited now. Still lots to do and lots of other things happening between then and now though but I do hope to start getting back a bit more often.
So on to the cards.
This months techniques were ‘Kissing’ and ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll’.
This is the card we made using the ‘Kissing’ Technique.
Supplies: Stamp sets: Ornate Blossom, A to Z, Teeny Tiny Sentiments. Card: Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, Greenhouse Gala DSP. Inks: Stampin’ Write Markers – Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie & Baja Breeze, Veramark inkpad. Accessories: Pear Pizzazz Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Circle Scissor Plus.
For the Rock ‘N’ Roll card I created a Pocket card which was demonstrated at our Regional Training Day last Saturday.
This is a really quick card to make. The colours are from the new Colour Coach.
Supplies: Stamp sets: Eastern Blooms, Occasional Quotes. Card: Perfect Plum, Very Vanilla, Rose Red DSP – Subtles Prints Stack. Inks: Marina Mist, Rose Red, Perfect Plum. Accessories: Marina Mist Taffeta ribbon, Modern Label Punch, sponge dauber.
These are the 2 cards we made during my October Technique Class.
The card on the left is done using the Baby Swipe Technique and the card on the right is a Catty CASE using the Colour Spritzer Tool.
Here’s a close up of both cards.
The Baby Swipe technique resembles brayering but all you need is a Baby Wipe and some reinkers on gloss cardstock.
The Colour Spritzer Tool is a wonderful tool which I admit I don’t use enough. It’s great for adding a bit of ‘texture’ to you card especially where there is a lot of ‘blank space’.
After I made the Baby Swipe card I thought some embossed butterflies would like nice only to realise that I hadn’t yet purchased the Beautiful Wings embosslits die. I have now corrected that and made the alteration to the original card.
What do you think?? With or without? Or do you like both?

Colour Spritzer Card Supplies: Stamp sets: Just Believe Card: Soft Suede, Old Olive, Very Vanilla Inks: Crumb Cake inkpad, Crumb Cake & Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers Accessories: Very Vanilla 3/8” Taffeta ribbon, 1 3/4” Circle Punch, Neutrals buttons, Linen Thread, Colour Spritzer Tool, Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The other technique I taught for September was using the new Shimmer Paints. This was the first time I had used them and they are just gorgeous in real life. Unfortunately they don’t photograph real well or I haven’t worked out yet how to so you can see the shimmer anyway.
Rich Razzleberry would have to be one of my new favourite colours since the Autumn/Winter Mini but I wasn’t sure what other colours I would use with it at first. I pulled out the new Colour Coach to see what suggestion it had and ended up with my colours for this card of Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive & Pumpkin Pie.
Lots of new goodies used on this card too.
I’ve used the ‘For You Flower’ a la carte stamp combined with the stem & leaves stamp from the ‘Sweethearts’ stamp set. The ‘For You Flower’ has a coordinating punch which makes this a great one to use if you want to pop it up without having to worry about cutting out. I’ve also used some of the new Pumpkin Pie 1 1/4” Striped Grosgrain ribbon which I’ve added a new Rich Razzleberry button to. I didn’t use buttons much in the past but I can see me using lots of the new collections.
Supplies: Stamp sets: For You Flower, Sweetheart Card: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie & Whisper White Ink: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry reinker, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint Accessories: 1 1/4” Pumpkin Pie Striped Ribbon, Bold Collections buttons, Fancy Flower Punch, 1 1/4” circle punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, sponge dauber, crochet cotton (non-SU)
One of the techniques I taught in my Technique Class for September was the Baby Wipe Technique. This is such a simple an effective technique which I hadn’t played with in a while myself but after using it again for the class it’s one I’m going to use more often.
I chose to use the ornamental stamp from Friends 24-7 and kept it monochromatic using Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy and Whisper White.
I’ve also used the Circle Scissor Plus on this card which I haven’t used often either. Now that I’ve been playing with it more and becoming more confident I’m sure I’ll be using it lots.
Another new item I’ve used that you can see in the picture is the adhesive Pearls. I’m so glad these can now be purchased as a sheet on their own rather than in the Pretties Kit. It was the most used item in my Pretties Kit which had to be replaced more for the 1/2 backed pearls than anything else.
I’ve used some other new items on this card but first I’ll share the full card with you.
I’ve used more pearls, this time the medium size, the new Scallop Trim Border Punch, new Whisper White Satin Ribbon and the sentiment is from the new stamp set ‘Word Play’.
It’s a pretty simple designed card but I think the Baby Wipe technique used on the main image really adds to it.
Tomorrow I’ll share the other card and technique we did.
Supplies: Stamp sets: Friends 24-7, Word Play Cards: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White Inks: Baja Breeze & Not Quite Navy reinkers, Not Quite Navy inkpad Accessories: Jewels Basic Pearls, Circle Scissor Plus, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Whisper White Satin Ribbon, Baby Wipe.
Last Wednesday was my scheduled Technique class but I’m holding another this Wednesday at 9:30am. I still have a few spots available if you’d like to come along, you just need to let me know no later than 7pm Tuesday evening by either emailing me or phone on 0418 218 467.
When you attend my Technique Classes you receive printed instructions on cardstock for both techniques (these fit nicely into the Art Journals), make a sample to include on your instruction sheets and then make a complete card with envelope. The class is $20 with all materials supplied.
The Techniques for August are both using the Whisper White Craft Inkpad stamped onto Basic Black cardstock but that’s all they have in common. The colouring techniques are using different products.
The techniques are Chalkboard and Black Magic.
I’ve used the Vintage Vogue stamp set along with Sincere Salutations on the Chalkboard technique card and the Upsy Daisy stamp set for the Black Magic technique card.
