Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and are ready for a fabulous 2011.

It’s been almost a month since I blogged which wasn’t my intentions but I’ve had a lovely break in the process. My family have been on our 1st holiday in 3 years and this one was even overseas. My girls can now say they have finally been on a plane. We had a lovely week in Fiji at the Naviti Resort doing not much of anything except relaxing, spending time together and eating. We also met a lovely couple and their 2 girls from Queensland which made the trip even that much nicer.

Here’s a couple of photos of our trip.

This was taken on our second last evening.

This was taken on our last day with Bill who runs the Pool Volleyball finals (which happen to take place everyday and each side wins a game and then whoever is on Bill’s team wins the final….lol) Notice all us girls had our hair braided….. One of my favourite things about this photo is that everyone is smiling.

We all had a great time and hubby’s even talking about going back again and for a little longer next time which for him is great. I guess that’s great for all of us too but if you knew my husband you’d understand. I had to push for Fiji as he’d rather of stayed in Australia but a driving holiday with cooking and cleaning isn’t a holiday as far as I’m concerned.

We arrived home the week before Christmas which I just spent washing, ironing and grocery shopping with some reading time thrown in as well. My 2 eldest girls and I all took a book with us which we couldn’t start until we were on the plane. I finished mine on the plane coming home and have since read another 6 books and starting on the 7. I’m really loving Nora Roberts books at the moment who until about 2 month ago had never read before.  I had all the present shopping done, wrapped and under the tree a week before we left. I try and have my Christmas gift shopping done every year no later than the first few days of December but it’s usually not wrapped until Christmas Eve. Christmas was a quiet affair this year for us with just the 6 of us plus my brother. The rest of the family had other engagements this year. New Years was just the 6 of us watching the fireworks on tv and relaxing together. It’s been nice but very hot. It’s 37°C here today and even though I’d love to be in the pool I overdid the sun a little too much 2 days ago (our first day of sun in almost a week) so am staying well clear at least until the sun goes down….

So that’s an update on what’s been happening in my life over the past month (longer really with all the behind the scene preparation for a holiday for 6 but it was well worth it).

Now that our last Stampin’ Up in Oz Secret Sister swap is over I can finally share the items I made for my sister with you all over the next few days and I also have the Tissue Box Tutorial on my agenda of things to do so hopefully I’ll have that ready to share later in the week.

Till next time….

Sorry I’ve been MIA….

It’s been a while since my last post and I apologise for that. I’ve had a few busy weeks with classes and family commitments, along with a few other things.

I’m actually typing this up at the swimming pool while my girls have their lessons. I have another class on tonight, an impromptu one, but hopefully after that I can snap a few photos, edit them and send through a proper blog post later tonight.

Till next time……
