Well the reveal has finally happened so now I can share with you the items I made and sent to my Secret Sister. My Secret Sister was Sonia Garbutt and I was so excited to have her as my partner this round.
Sonia let me know in her questionnaire that she loves Not Quite Navy. I do too but I hadn’t used it in ages. The stamp sets she listed as some of her favourites were: Great Friend (from the Spring Mini which was still available at the time), Snow Swirled and Circle Circus. No surprises that I love the Great Friend stamp set too and I have the other 2 but was yet to use Snow Swirled and hadn’t used Circle Circus much either so my aim was to incorporate all this into the items I made for her.
If you followed along with my posts from the last round you may know that each month we needed to send 2 handmade cards and 1 handmade gift. The final gift needs to include $30 of Stampin’ Up product preferably items from our Secret Sisters Wish List. The gifts for the other 2 months are only small. Mind you that’s only the minimum requirements so it’s up to each player if they want to spoil their Sister just that little bit more.
I’m going to break the posts down to encourage you to come back and see what else I made but also to give me some time to recreate some new items to share with you. Hubby goes back to work on Monday (yahoo) so I should be able to sneak in a little more creating time as he’s just wanted to go out all the time while he’s been off. I think he needs to get himself a hobby (well one that lasts longer than a few month fad anyway….hahaha). As I said to him this morning, he might have closed his business for the Christmas/New Year break but my duties around the house don’t stop. Imagine trying to catch up on washing and ironing for 6 people if I took the 11 days off too. I’d hate to think what state my floor would be in too. I need time at home.
So the first item I sent to Sonia was a card. I was enjoying making the Tri-Fold cards at the time so this is what I made.
I’ve started with a Not Quite Navy card base, added piece of Urban Garden DSP to the top and bottom panels. The centre panels have some Kiwi Kiss added with an additional layer of decorated Whisper White to the 1st & 3rd panels. I’ve use the Great Friend stamp set, a touch of Baja Breeze striped grosgrain ribbon, some 1/2 backed pearls from the Pretties Kit and a retired button.
Tomorrows items keep with the same theme so come back and see what her 2nd card and October gift were.
Till then
Happy Stamping
This card was so beautiful and I knew that I had great things to look forward to after opening my first card. Thanks
Are you living in Hawaii?
