Secret Sister December Part 1

January 9, 2010 | 4 comments

I wasn’t as organised for December as I hoped I would be, so my first item I sent to Sonia was actually her gift. It was only sent off the week before Christmas so I was praying it would arrive in time. I had also included some gifts for her 2 little girls and a little something for her hubby.

This is the gift for Sonia.

Inside was more gifts. I had wrapped everything individually.

There was the Soft Subtle Watercolour Wonder Crayons she had on her wish list, along with both Circle & Square Aluminium Tags. I also included a lovely Lemon Meringue scented soap and a chocolate wallet.

Here’s a closer view of the chocolate wallet.

Snow Swirled was the other set Sonia had mentioned was a favourite of hers so I wanted to incorporate it into this months gift as much as possible. In the past when I’ve made these Chocolate Wallets I’ve decorated with DSP but this time I created my own by randomly stamping the snowflakes from Snow Swirled onto Whisper White card using Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss. I’ve wrapped the chocolates in some Baja Breeze & Kiwi Kiss Patterns DSP which is plain but I’ve stamped the Snowflakes to give it a pattern. I was really happy how this turned out and hope Sonia was too. From her message to the group after unpacking her gift on Christmas Day it seems she was.

The last bit of Sonia’s gift was her Christmas Card which of course I’ve use the Snow Swirled stamp set on.

To stamp the tree I’ve used the direct to rubber technique using Stampin’ Write Markers. I’ve used the same colour theme as I have made my own In Colour markers using Carol Dunstan’s tutorial.

Next up is the gift for her littlest girl.

I’ve wrapped some Ocean themed soaps in Ski Slope DSP and tied some of SU’s gorgeous Real Red Polka Dot grosgrain ribbon which is available in the Summer Mini. I have also put some Christmas Jelly Beans in a Test Tube, with more of that lovely ribbon and a personalise tag.

For Sonia’s big girl I had to create some packaging to fit her gift and this is what I came up with. This box has been decorated using the Holiday Treasures DSP, Ruby Red cardstock and Baja Breeze striped ribbon.   Inside this box is a Honey Bear bubble bath. Of course she received the same Test Tube filled with Christmas Jelly beans all personalised for her too.

So as not to leave her hubby out (we all know how men feel when they don’t get something too……) I created this Chocolate Box just for him using Ski Slope DSP.

Inside it contained some Ferrero Rocher chocolates and an assortment of Hot Chocolate and Cappuccino sachets.

As I still had one more card to send which would be my reveal I wanted to send something extra special.

Check back tomorrow to see what it was.

Till then…..

Happy Stamping

I nearly cried when I opened this package. I was gobsmacked by your generosity. Your workmanship is sensational!
Everyone who sees my special tin, just can’t help themselves but touch and admire it! I need a china cabinet to lock it away in.
My girls were stoked to receive presents from you, and the gifts were among the most anticipated presents to open on Christmas Day. Even hubby couldn’t wait!
All the gifts in the tin were fantastic and I can’t wait to use them all.
I was bursting in anticipation of the reveal, but you made me wait. I am glad, although I would certainly have been happy to stop here.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you from all of us!
