Easter Basket & Punch Bunny

I’ve seen a few of these baskets around lately and lots of Punch Bunny’s and thought it about time I tried it out myself.

I used the instructions for the basket from Whiff of Joy’s blog which you can find here. I varied them slightly and converted them into Australian measurements.

The punch bunny was CASED from Simi Stampers blog.

All my girls could tell it was a ‘bunny’ so it couldn’t be too bad….hahaha. What do you think??

I’ve used the lovely Tea Party DSP again for this Easter Basket and also for another which I’ll show you tomorrow.

I’ll be making up some extra’s of these for my daughters to give to their close friends at school next week. Not sure yet if I’ll put Punch Bunny’s on them yet though as they take a like time to do. I’m wondering if there’s a trick to them or maybe everyone else just likes this kind of fiddly thing. I guess practise will make me quicker at it. I usually avoid ‘punch art’ and even though it is fiddly to see the end result makes it worthwhile but that’s when I’m talking the odd one.

I’ve left the basket reasonably plain too so it will be easier to make more without any huge amount of time being needed.

Here’s a look at the inside.

The shredded paper I found at Woolworths while doing my grocery shopping a few weeks back and knew it would come in handy. They had yellow, purple, blue and pink packs. I grabbed one of each as they were $1.99 each so didn’t think they would last too long.

I just realised when starting to type out the supplies that I haven’t used a stamp set at all in this creation. Not sure if I’ve ever done that before…….

Supplies:
Stamp sets: NIL
Card: Almost Amethyst, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black, Tea Party DSP.
Ink: Pretty In Pink, Basic Black marker
Accessories: Punches – 1 3/4”, 1 3/8”, 1/2”, 1/4”** circle, Large & Small Oval, Word Window, White Gel Pen, Soft Subtles brads, sponge dauber, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Shredded Paper & Easter Eggs (non-SU)

**1/4” circle punch retired. Could substitute with the crop-a-dile.

Drop by my blog tomorrow to see the other Easter Basket I’ve made which has a sneak peek at an item in the Autumn/Winter Mini which will be released on Thursday 1st April. Or better still why not come and check it out in person tomorrow between 10am and 3pm. More details can be found in this post.

Till next time…..

Are you free……

This coming Saturday I’m having a casual drop in day and if you ‘are free’ then why not drop by. Have a cuppa, some nibbles, browse my creations or just have a chat.

Hopefully you are all aware that the Summer Mini Catalogue ends on 31st March, along with Sale-A-Bration, and have placed any order for items you wanted. If not this will be your opportunity to see some more creations of mine using some products from the Summer Mini and to place those orders so you don’t miss out.

I will also have some ‘sneak peeks’ from the upcoming Autumn/Winter mini released on April 1st on display and you will be able to take home a copy of the catalogue for yourself. Seeing that Easter falls at the same time as the Mini’s release I’m holding off on my Launch till Saturday 24th April and will post more details on that over the next week.

There won’t be any Make & Takes for you to do on Saturday but I will be creating throughout the day and will be demoing the Big Shot for those that wish to see it in action.

I will also have a list of the Product Shares I will be running for the Autumn/Winter Mini, class dates & signups, and some other offers too.

When: Saturday 27th March

Where: 134 Frederick Street, Lalor Park NSW

Time: 10am – 3pm

So come along and say hello and of course you are welcome to bring a friend.

Now if you can’t make it and would like a copy of the Autumn/Winter Mini posted out to you just email me with your address and I’ll pop one in the post.

Secret Sister items –Part 2

As I mentioned yesterday, January’s requirement for the swap was 3 handmade items where 1 could be a card.

Again I wanted to use Bravo Burgundy (the real Bravo Burgundy not the substitute I used for December….hahaha) but how am I going to create a trio of items without any Designer Series Paper. I’m writing this thinking back only a few years ago when I purchased DSP that I could never work out how to use it in a card. I’m not a scrapbooker so even though there was lovely papers, and I had to have them of course, they just never got used. These days I usually decide which DSP I want to use first and then the rest of the colours, etc fall into place. What a turn around?? Sound familiar to anyone else??

So I got to thinking what other colours go well with Bravo Burgundy as maybe I had DSP in those colours. Da da. Things were finally in motion. More Mustard and Old Olive go nicely with Bravo Burgundy and guess what????   Yes Haiku DSP has Old Olive and More Mustard. Once I got this worked out I new exactly what I wanted to do and this is what I made.

I’ve used the Great Friend stamp set as this was on my Secret Sisters questionnaire as her favourite stamp set. I sure understood that one as it’s one of my all time favourites too and so hope it makes the next big Idea Book & Catalogue on 1st September. If it doesn’t I don’t think it’s a set I will part with too easily though.

I have added some small 1/2 backed pearls from the Pretties Kit to the butterflies for an extra touch and I’ve attached the bag handles using a build-a-brad which I’ve also added a large 1/2 back pearl too.

I was really happy with the way this turned out considering my initially dilemma.

Now you may be thinking that this is only 2 items but there is still more….

Inside the ‘bag’ is a decorated note pad (in a colour not too far from Bravo Burgundy) with a matching pen and then 4 scallop note cards with envelopes.

Here’s a picture of the bag with everything that was inside it.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Great Friend, Sweet Little Sentiments (Level 1 Hostess set)
Card: Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, Whisper White, Haiku DSP
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, Old Olive
Accessories: Scallop Edge, Small Oval & Word Window Punches, Bravo Burgundy 5/8” grosgrain ribbon, Pretties Kit, Build-A-Brads, Crimper, Silver Hodgepodge, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Pen (non-SU).

February’s requirement was a card. Unfortunately I can’t remember which card I sent to my Secret Sister as I didn’t save it to the correct folder on my computer so that’s all I have to show you.

Till next time……
