Family Valentines

I haven’t had much time to create today as I’ve had to clean house unfortunately. Once that was done I then needed to duck out to the Post Office and send out the Blog Candy to the winner (it’s on it’s way Heather) and then I needed to go buy my hubby’s birthday present for tomorrow. After all that was done I’ve managed to just scrap in some crafting time to put together a little Valentine’s gift for my 4 girls and a little something for hubby.

Here’s what our girls came home to after school. I’d placed them in their bedrooms on their bedside tables.

For hubby I just made up a little nugget tin with some Toffees and Chocolate Hearts.

The little tags are all the same. I’ve stamped the Heart stems from the Love Defined stamp set in Pink Pirouette, then stamped the Love You much from Well Scripted on the bottom. The red hearts (and the blue ones in the nugget tin) are chocolates that I purchased from Darrell Lea.

Just  a little something small for everyone.

I received a Valentines Toblerone Chocolate this morning along with some scratchies. Unfortunately nothing to report on those……lol

Now I have the rest of the afternoon and the evening to create so hopefully I’ll have another post later.

Till next time….

Lattice Elements

I finally had a little bit of time to sit down today and create something I could share with you all. The 2 earlier cards were actually the last of the 5 cards I made yesterday. The earlier part of today, after catching up on my ironing finally, was spent creating for my Secret Sister in our 3rd Round of our Secret Sister swap on Stampin’ Up in Oz. I won’t be able to share those creations though until after the reveal late April as I think she browses my blog from time to time and I wouldn’t want to spoil any surprise.

Next challenge up on my list is the ColorLab Color Challenge #28.

At first glance these colours make me think ‘Valentines’. Maybe it also has something to do with the hearts floating around in the test tubes and also that Valentine’s Day is tomorrow (for those of us in Australia), but I’m kind of over all the ‘hearts’. There’s only one man in my life that needs a Valentine’s card and I already have more than that so I’m not making another…….sorry but I’m not.

So what else to make with these colours????

There’s a lot of cards floating around on blogs at the moment where images have been stamped, or punched pieces added to some cardstock and then put through the Big Shot using a Textured Impressions plate. Those that I have seen look great so I thought I’d give it a go myself, but just the stamped one.

I decided the lovely flower image from Elements of Style might work well for this and even though I feel it’s a very simple card I love the effect it creates.

I was going to add some retired Kraft taffeta ribbon but I didn’t like it. I also tossed around for a while with whether to layer the sentiment on Real Red or Crumb Cake scallop oval punch. In the end I think the Real Red looked nicer.

I’m still not sure if it needs something in the lower right corner. Maybe if I remade it I’d place the flowers at a different angle.

So what do you think??

I’m just glad I could use that colour combo for a ‘non’ Valentine’s card………lol

Till next time…

Congratulations

This card had a few changes along the way before I was finally happy with it.

First up I wanted to use The Play Date Cafe challenge for this week, PDCC68.

I was also planning on using the Inkspiration Sketch for this week as it would fit the main image nicely, but it just wasn’t working, so will leave that challenge for another creation.

I’ve used a recently acquired stamp set for this card and that is the gorgeous ‘Baby Bundle’ set. I really liked this set from the first time I saw the current IB&C but there isn’t many people in my life that are having babies anymore so I didn’t think I’d use it. When I had some Hostess dollars to use I gave in and I’m so glad I did. The pram reminds me of my first pram for my first born. It was big with wheels like this and the cover was actually polka dots too but it was navy and white in colour……

Here’s my finished card.

I really like this soft colour combination for this card. I’ve used Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride & Very Vanilla. It might look just as good with Bashful Blue in place of the Blushing Bride. Might have to try that one out another time.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Baby Bundle
Card: Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla, In Colour Patterns Stack – Blushing Bride, Neutrals Patterns Stack – Crumb Cake
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Very Vanilla 5/8” Satin Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Blender Pen, Basic Jewels – Pearls, Nestabilities (non-SU)

Till next time….
