I have 3 challenges lined up to complete today. I was hoping to get most of them done yesterday but it didn’t happen. So all going well and I get them completed you’ll have 3 posts to see today.
First up is this weeks ColorLab Color Challenge #27.
Here’s the colour we were given.
Deciding on a stamp set and layout for this challenge wasn’t easy for me. As I’ve mentioned in past posts, I’m trying to use stamp sets that haven’t been inked or haven’t seen much ink and not just grab for those ‘favourites’ or ‘easy to use’ sets. Mind you I still found it hard even if I had of chosen a ‘favourite’……lol
I’ve ended up going with a set that I’ve had for a little while but always forget about it. That set is “A Flower For All Seasons”.
The layout I’ve used is from Clean & Simple and is sketch #79.
I’ve kept the card fairly simple so this would also make a great Stamp-A-Stack card.
I’ve coloured the image using inkpads and a blender pen. I normally prefer to watercolour with an aqua painter but seeing how there is a bit of fine detail I thought the blender pen would give me more control over where the colour goes. I’ve coloured the basket with a very light shading of Peach Parfait, the bird has a deeper colouring of Peach Parfait, the tulips are Melon Mambo with Pear Pizzazz for the stems.
Supplies:
Stamp sets: A Flower For All Seasons, Upsy Daisy
Card: Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, Basic Black, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait
Accessories: 1 1/4” Square Punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig
Till next time….
I do like this one Nikki. Very clean and simple stamping. Lovely colours to work with too.
