Refreshing Brocade

The card I’m sharing with you for this post I’ve made for 2 challenges.

The first one is a colour challenge from Cards & Things Challenges and is Colour Challenge #69.

While trying to decide on a stamp set to use for this colour combination I remembered a ‘new to me’ Challenge site my good friend Meighan mentioned and that is SU Only Challenges. This week the challenge on their site is SUO Challenge #14 – Favourite Retired Stamp set.

I have a few retired stamp sets that I just don’t wish to part with, however I never seem to use them. Well this challenge fit perfectly to do just that.

So what set did I choose to use??

The gorgeous ‘Brocade Basics’ stamp set.

Most of the card is Marina Mist & Old Olive but there is a layer of Certainly Celery in there to fit with the Colour Challenge.

So is this one of your favourite retired sets too?

Card: Marina Mist Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Marina Mist
Accessories: Modern Label Punch, Photo Corner Punch, Word Window Punch, Basic Jewels – Pearls.

I’m here today with a challenge card for Scrapmaster’s Paradise Color Combos.

I was a little unsure of this combination having Cherry Cobbler & Real Red together. Initially I was going to add just a touch of Real Red but I ended up with just a touch of Cherry Cobbler instead.

I’m not totally happy with this card but I’ll let you make up your own minds.

I’ve added ‘clusters’ of Pearls in the centre of the flowers which unfortunately you can’t see overly well in the photos. I’ve also added some to the centre of the butterfly too.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Bliss (Sale-A-Bration)
Card: Bashful Blue, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Basic Jewels – Pearls.
