Fabulous Lucky Limeade Florets

Back with another Challenge Card, this time for The Play Date Cafe.

Here’s the challenge for this week PDCC146.

When I was making up my card I was thinking Black, White & Lucky Limeade but forgot it was ‘just a splash’ of Lime required so I’m hoping my card is still acceptable.

Here’s my creation.

See what I mean about it being a bit more than a ‘splash’…..lol

I didn’t use this set much when it was in the Summer Mini. Maybe it was the DSP that made me think of using those colours only but then again it was also a ‘not very creative’ time for me so it might just be that.

I’m happy with my end result so I guess that’s the main thing. There’s also another sneak peek in here. Can you guess what it is??

The main flower is in multiple layers which you can see better from this close up of the flower.

Here’s another angle showing part of the insert to finish off the card. I’ve stamped the main flower image in Lucky Limeade 3 times without reinking giving a soft variance of coloured flowers.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Fabulous Florets
Card: Lucky Limeade, Basic Black, Whisper White, 2011-2013 In Colour Patterns Stack
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, Lucky Limeade
Accessories: Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits, Petal Cone Die, Neutrals Brads (Basic Black), Festive Paper-Piercing Pack, Mouse Pad, Paper-Piercing Tool.

I’d love to receive some comments and let me know what you think the ‘sneak peek’ item is.

I’ve also added this card to the 52 Card Pickup – Week 34 over at Old Back Porch.

Till next time…..

Merry Christmas–JAI 132

I’m finally here with a Challenge Card and am hoping to get a few more done today. With any luck I’ll get back into the swing of things ( I know I’ve said this before) and have some regular posting and creating going on.

My card today uses the JAI 132 Sketch.

When I saw this sketch I knew straight away that I wanted to use it for a Christmas Card. I have a few sneak peeks for you with this card.

There’s new DSP, a new In Colour and a new Stamp Set. I really love the new DSP and can see me using lots of it. You’ve already seen some of it in this post of my Christmas Tree. I’m also liking the new In Colour I’ve used and the Stamp Set, well what can I say. I’ve had this one for over a year thanks to a wonderful friend but haven’t shared it on here yet as it wasn’t something in our catalogue. I’ll see if I can locate the card I made last year for Christmas and share another time.

So would you like to see my card?

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Bells & Boughs
Card: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Watercolour Paper, Be Of Good Cheer DSP
Ink: Stazon Jet Black, More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green
Accessories: Corner Rounder Punch, Aqua Painter.

To get some depth and a closer colour match for Cherry Cobbler with my water colouring I’ve used lots of layers allowing them to dry in between. Could probably go more but I was happy with the result.

I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of this stamp set over the coming months. It’s such an old time traditional Christmas Set to me and one that’s not seasonal (winter or summer) related. It just says ‘Christmas’.

Till next time…

Bright Blossoms

I’m back today to share yet another of Jenny Moors tutorials that I’ve just completed. I have made some changes in the colours I’ve used to what Jenny used in her tutorial, not because I don’t like the original colours (they are actually some of my favourites) but due to the ribbon retiring in 8 days so I wanted to use something that was carrying over.

I went hunting through the Colour Coach to see what combinations there were that had a ‘green’ in them. There were a couple I was tossing up between but I loved the brightness of the combination I chose. I have gone with Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo and Daffodil Delight.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Bright Blossoms, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, In Colours Pattern Stack 2011-2013
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits, Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Basic Jewels – Rhinestones, Scallop Edge Border Punch, 1 1/4” & 1 3/8” Circle Punches, Simply Scored Tool & Diagonal Plate, Lucky Limeade 3/8” Ruffled Ribbon.

I’m really enjoying making up these tutorials of Jenny’s. I need to start creating some ‘sets’ of my own though.

Till next time….
