Comfort Cafe meets Flowering Flourishes.

I know I said I’d be back with my Make & Take but I was typing up that post only to discover I haven’t photographed it yet. Too late in the evening to do that so I’m sharing this one and will take the photo and share tomorrow after the Craft Sale.

When I first went through the new Catalogue one of the stamp sets that I knew I needed in that first order was Flowering Flourishes which is on page 121. By the time I was at page 163 and found the Comfort Cafe DSP I knew I had to have some of that too as I thought it would go wonderfully with the Flowering Flourishes stamp set.

I’m going to show you now just how great they look together.

My wonderful upline, Marelle Taylor,  asked me recently if I’d make her a new Tissue Box Cover using some new DSP. Comfort Cafe is one of the few I have which lucky enough is one that Marelle also likes, so not only did I make Marelle a new one but I made one for me too.

Here’s the one I created for Marelle.

I was really happy with how this turned out and Marelle loved it too.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Flowering Flourishes, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Midnight Muse, Very Vanilla, Comfort Cafe DSP
Ink: Soft Suede, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse & Pool Party Stampin’ Write Markers
Accessories: Pool Party Seam Binding, Scallop Edge Border, Word Window & Modern Label Punches,  Framelits – Window Frame Collection, Festive Paper Piercing Pack, Mat & Piercer.

I’ve used a different DSP print from the Comfort Cafe DSP for mine.

This isn’t a colour combination I thought I would like so much but I do.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Flowering Flourishes, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Comfort Cafe DSP
Ink: Soft Suede, Cajun Craze, Summer Starfruit Stampin’ Write Markers
Accessories: Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon, Scallop Edge Border, Word Window & Modern Label Punches, Framelits – Window Frame Collection, Festive Paper Piercing Pack, Mat & Piercer.

If you’d like to make one of these for yourself you will find my FREE Tissue Box Tutorial on my Tutorials page here.

Christmas Ornaments

Well I promised you another post today so here I am.

I’m sure if you’ve seen the new Holiday Catalogue that you loved the ornament on the front cover too. Well I had a play and made 2 in different colour combinations.

First up I made one using Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive. Same colours as the Holiday Catalogue one but the centre on mine is different. The one on the Catalogue uses the ‘Candlelight Christmas’ DSP but I didn’t have any at the time so I used a piece of ‘Be of Good Cheer’ DSP instead. I have also used a smaller Vintage Faceted Designer Button because I also didn’t have the new Large Pearls yet…..

I’m still very happy with my results. I have some plans to change this one slightly so where they are made I will share that with you.

I must say the Scallop Tulle Ribbon is just so soft and gorgeous.

I have a class listed in my Class Schedule to make one of these so if you are interested, check out the date and let me know if you want to book in.

This ornament was a ‘traditional’ Christmas one (red & green colours), so what else to do but make a ‘non-traditional’ one too.

As you can see this one is made using blues. I’ve used Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy for this one, with some Crumb Cake Scalloped Tulle Ribbon. The centre is some Baja Breeze Pattern Stack DSP.

Both of these look much better in real life.

They are a little time consuming but well worth it. Personally I think they are a little big for a Christmas Tree but I love hanging decorations all around my house and from the ceiling so I’m sure I’ll find somewhere to put these this year.

I wanted to show an ornament at a Workshop last month but these are too time consuming for that so I made a small ornament using this same Keepsake Ornament stamp set and coordinating Framelits.

This one is a great size for the Christmas Tree. I’ve made mine in Cherry Cobbler and the rosette is made from some ‘Be of Good Cheer’ DSP. I’ve added Crumb Cake Scalloped Tulle Ribbon, a Vintage Faceted Designer Button and a Pearl. I’m going to make some more of these in other colours when I can find some spare time with everything on this month.

You can find online Video tutorials for all these ornaments if you wanted to have a go yourself. The large ornaments is a tutorial from Chicnscratch which you will find here and the smaller one is from Alison Solven which you can view here.

I’ll be back a little later to share the Make & Take card I used for this same workshop and also it was our Make & Take at Septembers Market.

What’s happening……

I know I still haven’t gotten back into regular posting but I have been creating.

My girls have just gone back to school this past Monday from having 2 weeks school holidays. They didn’t do a real lot as they enjoy sleeping in and lazy about but I did lots of crafting. During October I have a Craft Sale, our regular monthly market (Western Sydney Community Indoor Market), a Village Fair and a School Fete on top of classes and workshops and a birthday party.

First up is our Teams 5th Annual Giant Craft Sale which is this Saturday 13th October.

When: Saturday 13th October

Time: 9am – 12pm

Where: NEW VENUE!!!

Kings Langley Scout Hall

James Cook Drive, Kings Langley

(Located behind the Community Centre

next to the Kings Langley Shopping Centre)

Friday 19th is the Western Sydney Community Indoor Market which is a Girls Night In. Here’s some info on that.

Then on the Sunday, 21st October is the Lions Kings Langley Village Fair. This is being held at Pearce Reserve, Whitby Road, Kings Langley. The Fair is on from 9am – 3:30pm.

The last one for the month is the Werrington Public School Fete.

Werrington Public School
Heavey St, Werrington
In the School Hall
Fri 26th October 2012
Time 5.30pm till 9.00pm

We will be giving out goodie bags at these events and also have a Make & Take at the Girls Night In. I have been creating items to place in these goodie bags which has given me lots to do.

This is a 60  litre container which is 3/4 full. These are some of the items which will be in the goodie bags but drop by the Girls Night In, Lions Kings Langley Village Fair or the Werrington Public School Fete to collect yours. We have limited numbers so get in early so you don’t miss out.

This isn’t the only creating I’ve been doing. I’ve also made some items for my Secret Sister swap but I can’t share those with you until the end of this month when we reveal who we are. I have also been busy making items to sell at these Markets, Fairs and Fetes but I still have lots more planned. I do have a few more things to show you though but I’ll save them for another post tomorrow.
