Inkspiration Case

I’ve decided I need something to push me to create regularly, which in turn should mean I post more regularly.

So what am I going to do??

I’m going to try out for a design team. There is a new Challenge blog starting up by Mynnette called Inkspirational and I’m hoping to just scrape in my entries. You need to complete a card for each of the 4 challenges to be considered for the design team and guess what…… I’ve managed to get all 4 done in one day.

This post is the first of the 4 and it’s for the Inkspiration Case.

Here’s the Inkspiration Case provided.

and here’s what I made.

I decided to make a Christmas Card using the gorgeous Bells & Boughs stamp set. I’ve stamped my main image onto Watercolour Paper using Stazon Jet Black ink. I coloured the ‘fir tree’ branches using Old Olive & Always Artichoke Markers. The Poinsettia has been watercoloured using an Aqua Painter with More Mustard, Riding Hood Red, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive & Always Artichoke Inkpads. The largest Poinsettia has an extra layer as I stamped, watercoloured and cut out the centre petals and mounted on top using a Stampin’ Dimensional. Unfortunately as I’ve photographed my card straight on you can’t really see this. I’ll try and take another tomorrow and edit this post to show exactly what I’ve done.

Supplies:
Stamps: Bells & Boughs
Cards: Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Bold Brights Pattern Stack (Old Olive)
Ink: Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Riding Hood Red, Cherry Cobbler & More Mustard (Inkpads and/or Markers)
Accessories: Wide Oval Punch, Lots of Tags Sizzlits, Big Shot.

Watch out for the next card in just a few…..

Post-It Notes

As promised I’m back today to share the Post-It Note Holders I created for my markets last month.

The first lot I made were using some Twitterpatted DSP and the Mixed Bunch Stamp set. I have created 2 each of the 3 different images using a 2 colour combination.

You can’t tell from the picture but this first photo has some Dazzling Details added to the centre of the flower to give it a little sparkle.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Mixed Bunch
Card: Riding Hood Red, Island Indigo, Twitterpatted DSP
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Island Indigo
Accessories: Blossom Punch, Dazzling Details, Basic Jewels – Rhinestones, Clear Rhinestone Brads (retired)

With the next set I wanted to go brighter and found the Summer Smooches DSP to be just what I was looking for. I teamed it with the coordinating stamp set – Bright Blossoms.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Bright Blossoms, Fabulous Phrases
Card: Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, Summer Smooches DSP
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point
Accessories: Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die, 1 3/4” Circle Punch, Basic Jewels – Rhinestones, Stamp-a-ma-jig

I think my favourite are the brighter set.

Christmas Chocolate Sliders

At some of our market stalls last month I was finding people were looking for teacher’s gifts. I had a few suitable things but most of those sold at the first 2 so I thought adding some Chocolate Sliders to the mix might be good too. However at our last market no one was looking for teacher’s gifts but I did still sell some, so that was okay. I now have heaps ready for our next market this month which is the  WSCIM at St Mary’s Memorial Hall on Sunday 18th from 12noon – 4pm.

I thought the Scentsational Season stamp set would be great for decorating the sliders. I’m really loving this set as it makes finishing off your card or item so quick thanks to having the matching Framelits. Another item I’m loving is the Gumball Green In Color. I do still love Old Olive with Cherry Cobbler but I think the Gumball Green just lifts it so much more and looks great for Christmas.

Here’s some photos of how I finished off the sliders. I made 3 sizes. One to fit the small 100g blocks, one to fit the 200g Cadbury Chocolates (milk, hazelnut, fruit & nut) and also one for the 220g Cadbury Chocolates (Dream, Snack, etc).

First up are the small 100g block size.

These are some of the 200g & 220g block size.

These are really quick and easy to make and a great way to dress up a standard block of chocolate.

Supplies:
Stamp sets: Scentsational Season, Tags Till Christmas, More Merry Messages
Card: Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Ink: Soft Suede, Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: Gumball Green Satin Ribbon, Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dot Ribbon, Scallop Square, Scallop Oval, Large Oval, 1” Square Punches, Horizontal Slot Punch (retired), Labels Framelits, Holiday Collection Framelits, Linen Thread, Clear Rhinestone Brads (retired)

Pop back tomorrow and I’ll share my Post-In Note Holders that I made for the markets.
