It’s time again for a new challenge over at Inkspirational and this week we have a colour challenge for you.
Our sponsor for this month is Tammy from Creatively Me and she is offering this wonderful prize.
I’ve been busy resorting my stamp sets according to the US retirement list as ours will more than likely be the same or very similar to theirs when it’s released at the end of the month. My reason for doing this is to try and use those stamp sets that I will be losing as much as possible before they go. I’m doing this for 2 reasons. One is hopefully inspire you so if it’s a set you like and have yet to purchase you will be reminded to do so before it’s too late and the second reason is so I hopefully don’t have any uninked (or hardly used) stamp sets when they do retire.
So for my card today I’ve pulled out the ‘Just Believe’ stamp set. I’m also using some retired (already retired) colours for my card. I’m using Concord Crush for the Grape, Peach Parfait for the Peach and I’ve gone with Pear Pizzazz for the Olive. I know this last colour is a little light but it’s one of the colour combinations for these old colours. I’ve also used some retired Circle Rhinestone Brads just to use up some of my stash and I needed them to fit a sketch I’ve used for the card layout.
Here’s is my card.
I’ve created a shadow effect on the main image by firstly stamping in Concord Crush and the stamping again slightly to the left using Peach Parfait. Hopefully you can see it better in this picture.
So now it’s your turn to get creating for our colour challenge but first pop on over to Inkspirational and check out what the rest of the DT have made to inspire you.
Such a beautiful card Nikki, I love the shadow effect you created on the silhouette and your mix of patterns! Great layout too, the brads add a special touch! Ruth x
Hi Nikki, this shadow effect really is fabulous, it looks like a die cut! And love the mix of papers x
Nikki, this is so awesome! LOVE the gorgeous subtle shadow in the peach–amazing! Fabulous card and I hope your week is going well! 🙂
I really like the paper pads, there so versatile, nicely done
I love the way you’ve layered the banner under the image, and the silhouette. Very elegant. Marina
