Inkspirational Challenge #22

Our challenge this week at Inkspirational seeing that it’s a five week month is ‘Anything Goes’.

The card I’m sharing with you today is one of the Make & Takes I had at my Biggest Morning Tea event yesterday.

I’ve been trying to use up some of my Stampin’ Up cardstock, dsp, ribbons, etc that will be leaving us at the end of June so I’m not left with lots of non-current items.

I have lots of the Scallop Dots ribbon left so wanted to use some of this along with at least one retiring cardstock colour, so I pulled out the colour coach.

The combination I chose was River Rock, Not Quite Navy and Tangerine Tango. River Rock & Not Quite Navy are both leaving but so is the Tangerine Tango Scallop Dots Ribbon. So this combination was great.

Here’s what I came up with.

I’ve kept the card pretty simple so everyone had time to make one of each of the 3 Make & Takes I had prepared.

I’ll share the other 2 with you later with an update of how the event went.

I started with my River Rock base card. On a piece of Whisper White card I have stamped the leave image first using River Rock ink. Next I stamped the flower stem in Not Quite Navy ink. Finally I added some Tangerine Tango using the flower top and small flower images. I then layered a piece of Not Quite Navy Patterns Stack DSP to the bottom of the Whisper White piece covering the bottom of the flower stem and leaves. Next was to wrap a piece of the Tangerine Tango Scallop Dots ribbon around and adhere using Mini Glue Dots. This piece has then been adhered to the main card. The sentiment was stamped using Not Quite Navy ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, punched out using the Extra-Large Oval punch and mounted to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A very quick and easy card to recreate.

Supplies: (All Stampin’ Up)
Stamp sets: Summer Silhouettes, Perfect Punches
Card: River Rock, Whisper White, Regals Patterns Stack (Not Quite Navy DSP)
Ink: River Rock, Not Quite Navy, Tangerine Tango
Accessories: Extra-Large Oval Punch, Tangerine Tango Scallop Dots ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive.

I hope you like my card.

Inkspirational EOTWE #21

I’m back today to share my creation with you for this weeks Inkspirational Sketch Challenge.

Here is the Sketch again.

Don’t you just love it when you see a Sketch and you know straight away what you want to create with it?

That’s what happened with this one for me.

Even my colour combination was easy to select as I’m trying to use up some of my soon to be retiring DSP and Cardstock colours.

I chose the Twitterpatted DSP and combined this with Riding Hood Red (soon to be retired), Island Indigo (soon to be a standard colour) and Whisper White.

Here’s what I created.

I’ve woven the DSP strips to show the 2 different patterns and then layered this onto the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’ve then punched 4 Bitty Butterflies in Island Indigo and added some bling. These have then been added again using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment is a retired stamp set called ‘Heard from the Heart’ ( I just can’t part with this stamp set) which is stamped in Riding Hood Red.

Here’s another view showing the raised front pieces and the inside.

I hope you like what I have created using this weeks Sketch. Would love to have some feedback from you.

There is still time for you to participate if you haven’t already. The challenge will close Tuesday at 12noon CST (which is 3am Wednesday in Sydney).
