I’m back today to share my Inkspirational Challenge card for this weeks Colour Challenge.
Here’s the colour challenge again.
Now when I first saw these colours I wasn’t sure what I was going to do. However, we were provided some gorgeous designs by this month’s sponsor Milk ‘n’ Coffee Digital Designs so I chose which one to use and went to work.
This is what I came up with.
I’ve printed my image onto X-Press It Blending Card and then coloured with Copic Markers.
The colour combination I chose was Melon Mambo (for the Melon), Pumpkin Pie (for the Orange) and Summer Starfruit (for the Starfruit).
The copic markers I have used are:
Skin: E00, E000, E0000, R20
Hair, Wand & Stars: Y26, Y23, Y21, Y0000
Dress & Hat: YR14, YR12, YR00, YR0000, RV14, RV13, RV11, RV10, RV0000
Wings: C1, C00
I’ve also added some Dazzling Details to the wings, wand & stars for some added sparkle and added some Rhinestones the front of the card.
Here’s a close up.
You may just see a little sparkle on the wand and wing.
I’ve also decorated the inside of the card.
I was really happy how this turned out as when I first started I wasn’t too sure how this colour combination would work.
Supplies: (All SU unless specified otherwise)
Stamps: Fairy Princess (Milk ‘n’ Coffee Digital Designs), Magical Birthday (LOTV Dreamy Days Circular Sentiments)
Card: Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, In Color 2012-2014 Patterns Stack (Summer Starfruit), X-Press It Blending Card (non-SU)
Ink: Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Scallop Edge Border Punch, Dazzling Details, Basic Jewels – Rhinestones, Nestabilities Circles & Ovals in small & large (non-SU), Copic Markers
I’d love for you to leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my card.
Don’t forget to pop on over to Inkspirational and see what the other DT members have created to inspire you with this weeks Colour Challenge EOTWE post.
You still have a few days to participate yourself. Would love to see what you do with this colour combination.

This is totally adorable Nikki! What a perfect birthday card for a little girl (or even a big one!)
What fantastic colouring and the added sparkle so perfect for the image x
OH MY WORD!!!!!!!!! This card is so amazing, Nikki! I LOVE the amazing coloring you did–and this digi is just so cute! You’ve made her even cuter! LOVE it! The sparkly wings are amazing, too! HUGS to you and THANK YOU so much for using our sponsor’s image! 🙂
Hi Nikki, I also often look at the colour combos and think ‘help!’ , but when I’ve played with the quantities and added a neutral, they seem to work. The colour combo looks great on your card. Love the choice of patterned paper and your colouring-in is perfect. Marina
I think that many of us find this color combination quite challenging. I love the colors, but I have never used them together this way. I think you solved it really well with the sweet girlie image. I think the circle shaped image looks nice with the circle shaped sentiment. A great card for a young girl!
Such a cute image, love the colour choice, very sweet
