Honey Bee Hexagonal Box

January 19, 2020 | 0 comments

I’m back today to share another creation with you and that is my Honey Bee Hexagonal Box, using products from both the January – June 2020 Mini Catalogue and a coordinating product from Sale-A-Bration.

The Honey Bee stamp set in the mini catalogue was something I knew I would have to have and then when I opened the Sale-A-Bration brochure and found they had coordinating paper I wanted it even more.

You may have seen the Hexagonal Roll-Up box by Intatwyne Designs but I only came across it in December after attending my team leaders Christmas Party. We do an optional Secret Santa swap and I’m sure you know its not necessarily about the gift inside but the packaging that it comes in. Well 3 team members had made these in Christmas papers and now it’s my turn using the lovely Honey Bee stamp set, coordinating Detailed Bee Dies and Golden Honey Speciality Paper.

Here is my Honey Bee Hexagonal Box. I love the gold foil accents in this dsp.

You can make it as per the instructions in the link above but I’m a little pedantic and wasn’t happy with my cutting out of the pieces that needed to be removed from the boxes so I decided to spend some time on my computer and turn them into templates to cut on my Silhouette Cameo. A little more time initially but will save me some sanity and time for everyone I make after and it turned out great. Initally I didn’t cut the little half circle from the box and paper ( I used a punch for this one) but I’ve gone back and altered that now so the only thing I will cut normally is the actual cardstock wrap.

My sentiment is stamped and then die cut using the Stitched Nested Labels dies and I’ve added dimensionals to each corner of the Basic Black layer but only removed the backing on one which is adhered to the box. That way it sits nicely but can still be opened. I’ve glued the flower image to the underside and also added a small dimensional under the larger flower again without removing the backing so it sits nicely.

When I know who I’m giving this to I’ll decide what to put into the boxes. Each box will fit 3 Lindt balls nicely (just to give you an idea on the size).

I hope my Honey Bee Hexagonal Box gives you inspiration to try making one for yourself. I’ll be making more with other dsp and would love to see yours too.
