I’m back today with another Colour Challenge creation and this time it’s for the Colour Inkspiration Challenge #102.
I was unsure which stamp set to pull out and create with for this colour combination at first, but then decided on the Poinsettia Petals set to create a Christmas card. Normally I tend to stick to a more ‘traditional’ colour scheme on my Christmas cards but I’m really happy with how this turned out.
To make this card I started with an A5 piece of Basic Gray cardstock which is folded in half to create my base card. I have then cut a 100mm x 143mm piece of Smoky Slate cardstock and a 97mm x 140mm piece of Basic White cardstock. Next I cut a 35mm x 140mm piece of Polished Pink designer series paper which I have die cut using the Basic Border Dies.
I stamped my sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the Basic White cardstock as shown. Next I glued the Polished Pink dsp to the left edge of the Basic White piece. This was then glued to the Smoky Slate cardstock piece.
My outline images were all stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Basic White cardstock. I have then stamped the corresponding solid image using Basic Gray, Smoky Slate and Polished Pink inkpads before die cutting using the coordinating Poinsettia Dies. I have layered 2 of the Poinsettia images together using a Stampin’ Dimensional between the 2 pieces. The images have been mounted to the Basic White piece using either glue or dimensionals.
I mounted this piece to the Basic Gray card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Lastly, I used the Wink of Stella on the flower centres and added a few Rhinestones to complete my card.
