We usually have a team Stamp Camp each year but unfortunately due to COVID lockdowns last year we couldn’t have our regular one in August so this year there is 2 planned. The first one was earlier this month and the 2nd one will be our regular one in August. I may not attend the August one as I have a belated trip to Hawaii planned and won’t be back in time, but nothing is set in stone these days. I’m feeling kind of sad to miss August though as I’ve attending each year since they started.
At the camps we are given a few challenges that we can participate in if we so wish. We had an additional one this time where we had to blindly select 3 pieces of cardstock from a bag and create a card using only those 3 colours (white, vanilla & black could be added too).
The 3 colours I picked out ended up being Magenta Madness, Pear Pizzazz & Soft Sea Foam. I actually think I ended up with the most ‘normal’ colour combination of the lot which made for easy creating for me. I must say though that every card was inspiring and I was really impressed with the end result using some of the colour combinations that the other ladies ended up with.
We could only enter 1 card for the challenge but I ended up making 2 cards using this colour combination just for my own enjoyment. I’ll share the first card today and the second card in my next post.
Flowing Flowers stamp set from the January – June 2022 Mini Catalogue was one of the first sets I knew I wanted when I first browsed the catalogue and that’s what I have used for my card.
I started out with a Basic White Thick base card. Next, I adhered a piece of Soft Sea Foam dsp from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP Pack.
My sentiment is from the Celebrating You stamp set, also in the January – June 2022 Mini Catalogue, and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the base card.
I randomly stamped the images from Flowing Flowers using Magenta Madness and Pear Pizzazz ink pads. The images were inked up using Sponge daubers as I find they give a nicer ink coverage to these types of stamps than using the inkpad directly (especially if your inkpads are really juicy). It also makes it easier to apply more than 1 colour to the image. Once I had my images stamped I die cut the area I wanted to use with the Stitched Rectangle dies.
I have wrapped some White Bakers Twine around this piece and tied a bow before mounting to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the final touch I added some Elegant Faceted Gems.
