Thank You

My card for today is using the Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper along with some Gold Leafing.

I came across this card by Melissa Kerman and needed to try it out for myself.

Here is what I created.

I started out by cutting the following pieces.

  • 1 piece of Basic Gray cardstock measuring 105mm x 297mm, folded in half to create my base card.
  • 2 pieces of Basic Black cardstock measuring 95mm x 138mm plus a scrap for the punched tag piece.
  • 2 pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock – 1 @ 92mm x 135mm and 1 @ 105mm x 148mm.
  • 1 piece of Adhesive Sheet measuring 105mm x 148mm.
  • Multiple strips of Designer Series Paper 25mm x any length.

Once I had all my pieces I then applied the Adhesive Sheet to the same size piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Carefully removing the backing sheet from the Adhesive Sheet, randomly apply the designer series paper strips in different directions over the adhesive sheet leaving an even gap between the pieces. Once the piece is covered, carefully turn the piece over, making sure to not touch the adhesive sheet left in the gaps and trim the excess overhanging dsp flush with the edge of the Very Vanilla cardstock.

Next comes the fun, messy bit where I placed the cardstock upside down into my Gilded Leaf container and patted down to cover the remaining adhesive with the Gilded Leaf. I then turned the piece over, still in the container, and lightly brushed off the excess with a sponge. This piece was then cut down to 92mm x 135mm before adhering to the Basic Black layer using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I then mounted this completed piece to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My sentiment was stamped onto the Basic Black scrap using Versamark Ink and then heat embossed using Gold embossing powder. I then used the Elegant Tag to punch out the tag. I added a piece of Fine Art Ribbon using a Mini Glue Dot and some Metallic Pearls, before mounting to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Next, I decorated the inside of the card by stamping the floral image in Basic Gray onto the remaining piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. I also added an offcut of the front panel piece to the side before mounting to the Basic Black remaing piece. This was then mounted to the inside of the card.

Here’s how the inside looks.
