I’m sharing a simple Birthday card that I have made that was inspired by this card by Martin Stone from Martin’s Mayhem.
I love Martin’s card but I didn’t have the Bouquet Of Thanks stamp set at the time, I do now, so I substituted Blessings of Home in it’s place. Apart from the change of stamp set there are a few other differences and here is my end creations.
Details
I started out with an A5 piece of Cake Crumb cardstock which I scored and folded in half. On the front of this card I stamped the main floral image from the Blessings of Home stamp set, randomly around the edges using Versamark ink. Next, I stamped this same image using Early Espresso ink onto the bottom edge of a smaller piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. I then coloured the image using Watercolour Pencils from both the Assortment 1 and Assortment 2 packs.
The next thing I did was to add some white splatter using the Whisper White Craft Ink Refill and a Water Painter. Following this, I added some Early Espresso splatter using a Stampin’ Write Marker and my ‘long ago retired’ Spritzer tool. I then curled the top left corner of this piece using a bone folder until the card separated into 2 layers. Using some paper snips, carefully, I roughed up the remaining edges of the card to give a distressed look. This was then mounted to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Next, I stamped the sentiment using Early Espresso ink onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. I then flagged one end before mounting to the card using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
