September Part 2

September Gift & Card

This was the last gift and card I sent to my Secret Sister in which I revealed who I was. I have used the lovely Sweet Always DSP, coordinating cardstock, ribbon, etc along with the Always stamp set. Not Bold Brights but still reasonably bright and cheery in real life.

Inside the box was some Darrell Lea Chocolate Bullets, 3 Embossing Powders, a mixture of the new Flower & Filigree Designer Brads and a few more samples of ribbon this time the 1/4” grosgrain.

The box is one of Becky Roberts wonderful tutorials which I altered a little to suit my needs.

And here’s a closer look at the card:

The sentiment used on this card is from the ‘Taking Care of Business’ stamp set.

Well that’s it for my cards & gifts I sent my Secret Sister for Round One. I have signed up again for Round Two which is from October – December so once the reveal is done in December I’ll share the Round Two items with you.

Happy Stamping

Sweet Always gifts

My last post showed you a gift box made using some of the Sweet Always DSP and some Fresh-Cut Notes that were decorated with various papers and today I’m going to show you a few more things I made with the Sweet Always DSP.

I also mentioned in the last post that the gift was an overdue present for a family member. (I sure hope she isn’t reading this…..) Anyway it’s actually a late Mother’s Day gift for my Step-mother. I was running a little late with getting something off to her but when I phoned on Mother’s Day to wish her a lovely day I was informed that they (my dad and step-mother) were off on a lovely 3 1/2 week holiday to Italy and some surrounding areas the following Friday. Well I meant to get something made and to her before they left but it didn’t happen. Of course I should have made sure it was done and off to her so it would arrive a few days after they got home. But no, that didn’t happen either. My step-mother is a lovely lady who totally understands how busy things can get and I’m sure will enjoy the package I sent her today. Finally.

So enough of an explanation, here are the rest of the items I’ve sent to her.

Firstly her late Mother’s Day card.

Always 1

I’ve inked the heart from the ‘Always’ stamp set with Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip markers. The Happy Mother’s Day was stamped with versamark and embossed with White EP.

Next is a Paper Block Holder which is one of Makeesha Byl’s wonderful tutorials.

And the final item is a Post-It Note holder (originally from Makeesha but I’ve adapted it to fit the longer Post-It notes).

Post-It Note Holder

The verse is from the ‘Dreams Du Jour’ stamp set which has been inked using Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip markers. I’ve used my Nestabilities to frame this.

This is the inside with a decorated pen. I’ve used the same DSP as the front cover.

While my dad and step-mother were away it was actually my birthday. My step-mother being the lovely organised person she is made sure my card arrived on time (no slacker like me) and then about a week after they arrived home I received a note card and a lovely Lorenzo Venuti bracelet all the way from Murano Italy. My gift doesn’t seem to compare but I hope she likes them and can put them to use.

Always A Beautiful Thing

Always 1 This is one of the layouts and colour combinations I used to create a page in a Friendship book I mentioned I stamped in last Friday night. I recreated the page and then layered onto a co-ordinating Bashful Blue card. I really like the colour combination on this card and the bird stamps out beautifully on Stampin’ Up’s Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp sets: Always
Card: Bashful Blue, Purely Pomegranate, Old Olive, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie Prints DSP
Ink: Bashful Blue, Purely Pomegranate, Old Olive
Accessories: Soft Subtles Brads (Bashful Blue), Word Window Punch, 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, 1 3/8″ Circle Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A Beautiful Life 1 copyThis is the 2nd card recreated from another page in a different Friendship book.

I’ve altered this one slightly from the page. I’ve had to use different words as they are a rub-on and we only get one sheet of black and one of white in a pack so of course I used the other words on the page.

This is the original page in the book. As you can see there are a few changes but I like both. I love the jumbo wheel ‘It’s Beautiful’ that I’ve used on the Purely Pomegranate cardstock. I’m sure you will see lots more of this one but remember it’s only available for purchase from the Spring Mini Catalogue (1st August – 30 November).
