Hand-Penned Petals Suite

3 posts

Congratulations

I’m back today with another card made using the lovely Hand-Penned bundle and co-ordinating designer series paper.

The only stamping in this one is the sentiment which was stamped in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder from the Basics Embossing Powder set.

My base card is an A5 piece of Basic White Thick A4 folded in half. I have then cut a piece of Basic White A4 card 142mm x 110mm, which I used the scallop edge die from the Penned Flowers Dies on the lower edge before trimming down to be 142mm x 98mm.

Next, I cut a piece of designer series paper 138mm x 89mm and glued this to the Basic White scallop edge piece. I have then die cut the detailed floral image from the Penned Flowers Dies in Basic White and the coordinating solid floral image in Blushing Bride. The detailed image was then glued on top of the solid image. I used Multipurpose glue as I had the detailed image already cut before deciding to use it on this card but the easier option would be to apply a piece of Adhesive Sheet to the Basic White card before die cutting. This has then been mounted to the front layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

My next step was to stamp and emboss the sentiment which I have then mounted to the front layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals on the right end and some Multipurpose glue on the flower side.

I have then added an array of Pearl Basic Jewels to the flower centres on the designer series paper before mounting this whole piece to the base card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I just love playing with this set. You can check out some of my other recent creations with this stamp set here and here.

Hand-Penned Petals Birthday

The Hand-Penned Petals Suite is one of my favourites from the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. The Designer Series Paper is just gorgeous and the stamp set has outline images as well as 2-Step stamps so it has lots of potential.  The Genial Gems that complete the suite are so pretty in Soft Succulent and Pale Papaya.

I’ve used the suite today to create 2 Double Z Fold cards.

This first one I have used Cinnamon Cider & Mint Macaron which I’ve picked from the Designer Series Paper. I first stamped the image using Memento Tuxedo Black onto some Basic White cardstock. I then stamped the leaf images using Mint Macaron, the large flower in full strength Cinnamon Cider and the smaller flower in 2nd generation Cinnamon Cider. I’ve also coloured the stem using Dark Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends.

Next I’ve die cut the image using the coordinating dies. The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set and is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I’ve mounted the image using Stampin’ Dimensionals and finally added a few Genial Gems to finish off the front section.

I’ve used one piece of DSP on the card with the centre piece showing the reverse side.

The second card has a Soft Succulent card base. Soft Succulent isn’t listed as one of the colours in the Designer Series Papers but it matches quite well. I’ve used the other flower from the stamp set on this card which is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The large flower is stamped using Pale Papaya. The next 2 sizes are stamped using Blushing Bride, the small duo flowers are in Daffodil Delight with the leaves being stamped in Soft Succulent.

Again I have stamped the sentiment from Peaceful Moments using Memento Tuxedo Black. The image is die cut using the coordinating die and mounted to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’ve used those pretty Genial Gems again to complete the card front.

Once again it is one piece of the DSP and I’ve used the reverse side for the centre piece.

You can check out another card I made recently using this set here.

Here are the measurements for my card.

  1. Base card – 105mm x 297mm, score at 74mm and 148mm on long side with the 74mm being a mountain fold and the 148mm a valley fold.

Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #30

It’s Blog Hop time again and this time we have a sketch.

If you are starting the hop here, welcome and I hope you like what I have created.

My creation features the new Hand-Penned Petals Suite from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue.

To make my card I started with an A5 piece of Basic White Thick Card, scored & folded in half. I then cut a piece of Basic White card & 2 pieces of the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper at 144mm x 101mm. I adhered one piece of the DSP to the Basic White piece of the same size with the dotted side facing up. This gives the layer some extra strength. Next, I die cut the remaining piece of DSP on the floral side using the Curvy Dies and then adhered to the top of the previous piece.

I then stamped the ‘Thanks’ using Memento Tuxedo Black directly onto the DSP. This is then mounted to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The floral outline image was stamped onto a scrap of Basic White using Memento Tuxedo Black ink before the flowers and leaves were stamped in Pale Papaya, Blushing Bride & Mint Macaron. This was then die cut using the Penned Flowers Dies and mounted to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Lastly, I added some Genial Gems to complete my card.
