Paisley Petals Card Box

I ended up with 4 extra kits left from the workshop last week so rather than have them just sit around I made them up on Friday night at our fortnightly stamp night. The only change I made was a different word stamp for each. I didn’t photograph the 4 cards as the layout is the same but here’s the original photo again in case you didn’t ready my previous post and are not sure what I’m talking about.

4 extra kit cards + my demonstration card meant I had 5 cards so I decided I’d make them into a gift set complete with a box and envelopes of course. Well that was until my daughter went to a party last minute on Saturday and needed a card. That’s what we make them for though. So I was back down to the standard 4 cards for the set now.

I was tempted to go back and recreate the box in this previous post (revamped with Paisley Petals DSP though) but decided I wanted something different. I browsed through some of my purchase tutorials and came across an old My Timeless Templates tutorial by Lauren Meader called ‘All Boxed Up’. I liked the idea of this one but wanted it to fit my cards and envelopes but only have one side compartment so I used the general concept given in the tutorial but made up my own.

I’ve decorated the outside like the card fronts and used the sentiment ‘with Love’ from the Elements of Style stamp set.

Here’s what the inside looks like. I’ve used the other sentiment from the Elements of Style stamp set here.

This will make a great gift for someone special.

I hope you like what I’ve been sharing lately. I’m not sure how many of you are still visiting my blog after such a long non-creative show from me but if you do visit I’d love to hear what you think or just say hello so I know someone is out there still.

Paisley Petals Petite Pocket set

I’m back as promised to share with you the Petite Pocket set I made at the workshop. I didn’t actually finish decorating this at the workshop as the Hostess had chosen the set I showed yesterday so I thought I’d finish it off at home. Now if she had of chosen this set I wouldn’t have finished and decorated it to give to her with the Workshop orders.

First off I’ll share the card with you as this is the card that they all made for the Make & Take at the workshop. This card was cased from Bron Heslop. I loved Bron’s card so I haven’t changed a lot, just a different dsp design from the same pack and a few colour changes.

We also decorated the inside.

This is what the completed Paisley Petals set looked like.

I was originally going to use the flower image that was stamped for the card to decorate to boxes but it was a little to plain and flat so I ended up making some paper flowers and they are held together with an antique brad.

Here’s a closer look at the box and treat box. Again I’ve added to Raffaello Chocolates to showcase a use for the treat box. These of course are one of my favourite choccies.

Which set did you prefer? I like them both but I think the colours of the first set were really nice and I loved the Blossom Party flowers that I added for decoration.

I hope I’ve inspired you with some ways to use the Petite Pocket die. I know the ideas are from other wonderful crafters but maybe you hadn’t found them as yet and now you know where they are.

I’m hoping to be back in the next couple of days (at the latest) to share some more with you.
