Thinking of You….

I always struggle making cards for men so I’m glad I don’t often have to make them. Mind you I guess if I made more of them it wouldn’t be such a struggle now would it? Anyway hubby needed a card for a friend of his that is recovering for some medical issues so I went with Rooted In Nature.

I’ve used a colour combination of Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow & Night of Navy all from the Neutrals Collection with the main image stamped on Very Vanilla. My sentiment has been heat embossed using Gold Embossing Powder.

Simple Magnolia

The Magnolia Lane Designer Series papers are so pretty that you don’t really need much more than the paper to create a lovely card. These are another set of cards we made at a recent class.

A little piece of the designer series paper, a lace edge die cut in a coordinating colour, a sentiment and maybe a little ribbon is all you need. These cards could be done with any designer series paper to make a quick and easy card.

Now for my creation for this week.

I’ve used one of the gorgeous new Magnolia images from their ‘Animal of the Year Collection’ called Sneaky Tilda. I’ve teamed her with some lovely Magnolia papers from the Sea Breeze Collection called Rose Path. My image has been cut out using the Small Classic & Scallop Oval Nestabilities and then layered onto a Lacey Oval die also from Spellbinders. I’ve added some liquid pearls around my image also. I’ve edged my main card using a Martha Stewart ‘Around the Page’ Punch set called Cherish. Some lace from my stash, a few pearls, some gorgeous flowers with a ribbon bow and a sentiment finish off my card.

My image was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with Copic Markers.

The colours I’ve used are: Skin – E21, E00, E000, E0000, R20; Hair – E44, E42, E40;Dress & Ribbon – R89, R85, R83, R81, R0000; Shoes – W7, W5, W3, W1, W00.
